"What did the note say, Liam?" I asked, now fearing the answer.
The cold wind against my skin was beginning to feel less soothing, and felt more like a half dozen bees were stinging my skin.
I glanced down at the gray sweatshirt, or what used to be a gray sweatshirt. It now resembled a chard rag. It was a wonder that it was still hanging on my body and not a pile of ash on the ground. It was not a good week to be in my clothes apparently.
Liam's green eyes wandered over to Rossi. "Do you mind giving me and my sister a moment of privacy? I some things I most talk to her about."
The sunlight glinted off her dark sunglasses and gave the illusion that her eyes were two glowing orbs of light.
"I will but in exchange, I want to see this note you speak of."
Without hesitation, Liam reached into his pant's pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper, and handed it to her, while I watched in stunned silence.
How was he giving her this information this easily, while he had kept it from me? And why had he asked for some privacy, when he was so willing to give her the note anyways?
Rossi brought the paper towards her face and her lips move while they went over the words. After she was done, she handed it back to Liam. Her face, a plaid mask, gave no hint to what might be contained in the note. She handed it back to Liam and he shoved it back into the pocket of his pants.
"I will go tell your mate not to worry about the daywalker, while you talk to your sister." She turned and began to drift towards Annie.
I kept my eyes on her, while she drew closer and closer to Annie. She was still bent over her brother with her back facing us.
"Are you sure that is a good idea?" I asked, and turned back towards my brother.
A particularly gust of cold air smacked into us, and Liam hunched his shoulders against it.
"Letting her see the note? I don't think it could be helped. We need the guidance of a real witch in order to face this darkness. And as much as a have read about magic, I'm no and expert on it."
I shook my head," No I was talking about Rossi casually walking up to Annie like that. The last time she saw her, Rossi attacked us with a dark cloud of smoke."
Liam's face filled with concern and spared a nervously glance in Annie's direction. "I didn't think about that."
I slapped him on the arm, "How could you not think about something like that!? Of course, she would be terrified of her after what we saw her do, anyone would! She was also just a regular human only a few hours ago, humans hate witches!"
"You weren't afraid of her when she came up to you?"
"I was also a half-cooked piece of bacon, I was in so much pain I didn't really care who was standing over me!"
"Liam!" Annie yelled, and we turned towards her. She was on her feet and the Rossi had stopped her approach towards her.
"It's alright, she won't hurt you!" Liam called back.
"Liam, I really don't care what you think, get down here now!"
Liam frowned, "I think I have to go and check on her, but before I go I wanted to tell you this, and I didn't want Rossi to hear it. You don't have to do this if you don't want to. You don't have to go back to Red Cresent and try to save the pack or anyone right now. You can choose to train and not summon Hectate and leave the Red Cresent pack to their fate. Or you can choose to walk away altogether, it's your choice."
I grabbed both of my brother's hands and held them in mine, while I felt an overwhelming sense of love for my brother at that moment, "Liam, I have to go regardless if it is tomorrow or a year from now. I have to go and face Him, it's just something I have known ever since my memories came back. Rossi told me that I might be the only thing that can stop him, since I am a Lunera and a natural-born witch, although I am not sure that is true. Now go to your mate, she needs you."
Liam gave me a sheepish smile, "Thank you. But I still want you to read the note from Sanda before you make any decision."
Liam once again retrieved the note and handed it to me, before jogging away towards Annie.
I looked down at the piece of paper in my hand and opened it. I took a deep breath in preparation for what I was about to find out and began to read.
