I sat up from the cot. Beatrice was curled up on the cot furthest from me. And she was shaking uncontrollably, while Benedick and Caesar stood over her. Her auburn curls were fanned out on the pillow, like a halo.

"My fault, I killed them! My fault, I killed them!" she kept repeating over and over again. "And I can't even help Aurelia!"

Liam said something but I didn't  pay attention.

I stood and I let the rag slip out of my hand and onto the floor. I crossed the room to the three of them.

The floor creaked under my feet and Caesar's head jerked up and he locked eyes with me.

"Aurelia you shouldn't been out of bed..."he began to cross the room towards me but paused before he reached me. He squinted his eyes at me. "Aurelia, your head...there's no injury anyone... it's..."

I held a finger up to my lips. I did not want him to continue, not this loudly. Not until we were sure there weren't some cameras tucked away somewhere in here.

I gently brushed past him and continue to move towards Beatrice.

I felt like kicking myself. I had been made aware of Alpha Luka's love for cameras. And yet I had still gotten drunk, drunk enough to start talking to my "invisible" brother. And dared to try magic, when Alpha Luka might be watching us right now."

I perched myself on the edge of the cot and placed a hand on Beatrice's shoulder.

Her head jerked up and the next second, her arms were wrapped around me.

"I'm so sorry Aurelia!" she sobbed into the crook of her shoulder.

She pulled away from me and swiped at her eyes with the long-sleeved green t-shirt she had on.

"It's okay, see I'm fine," I said I motioned to the two boys to join me on the bed.

"How are you okay right now?" she asked.

"Talk really quietly, there might be cameras up here. Apparently Alpha Luka has cameras everywhere downstairs. And I can't tell you, but trust me I'm going to be alright.  Let's just say I have abilities that I weren't aware of until recently."

"So now that you seem to be alright, are they really dead?"

I nodded. From beside me, Benedick let out a soft groan while Caesar muttered some curses under his breath.

"That's why we are here," I said in a low voice. "Because they need to protect us because we...well you guys are really important. Me, not so much."

"Why aren't you important?" And why are we?" Caesar asked.

"I think I know why we are important."

We all directed our gaze towards Beatrice who was staring down at her hands.

"I have a feeling that the families we came from are very powerful," she said in a whisper.  "I know regretfully I am. I'm Alpha Damien's daughter." She swallowed. "And I know this because his mate is my mother. And she's the one that killed Charolette, Bert, and Theodore."

Well I be damned. I guess I wasn't the only Alpha's daughter in the group now. Not that I could tell her that. But what did she mean by it was her mother's fault?

She looked around at our faces. "I lied when I said I didn't remember what she said to me, before I fell down that riverbank. And now I know I shouldn't have kept it to myself ." She took another gulp of air and continued.  "When I met my mother. I was so happy. Really scared...but so happy because she told me she loved me. And then she told me she had a way to take me home to Snow Peak."

Tears began to pool in her eyes and she swiped them away again with her sleeve. "And she had a plan to take me home with her to A plan to make it seem like Pine Ridge would be a dangerous place for me to be. First, by staging an attack on me. And then, killing some of the other Lunera. And I got so scared so I ran from her. I should have pleaded with her to stop or..."

Beatrice began to sob again. "But you should have seen her eyes, she's so broken. But that doesn't mean she should be allowed to continue to go around and kill people!

"Oh no..." I said, suddenly remembering the excuse Grayson had used to get the Alpha to leave the room.  "She's in the woods right now, they are looking for her as we speak."

"What!?"  Beatrice screamed jumped to her feet.

"Keep your voice down and I know this because that's how Grayson got the Alpha to stop doing what he was doing to me." My fingers wandered up where my injury had been. "But he said that it was under control. I'm sure they will get her before she could hurt anyone else."

Beatrice shook her head vigorously at me.

"You don't understand, they aren't going to be able to stop her. So, we need to figure out a way to get into those woods right now so that I can."
