Chapter 141: Virtual Christmas

Andy's POV

"Daddy. Wake up." I heard Eliza whispering. I opened my eyes and saw my twins standing to the side of my bed. 

"It's Cwistmas." Elijah said. I looked to see my mom standing in the doorway.

"Okay, I'll be out in a minute." I told them and they nodded, running off. I sat up and grabbed my phone, sending ShyAnne a text, making sure she was up. She texted me that she was and I got out of bed. I pulled on a muscle shirt and sweatpants before going over to Callie who was still sleeping. I picked her up and then grabbed my phone again, starting the video call.

"Hi!" She exclaimed when she picked up.

"Hello!" I said quietly, adjusting the camera so she could see Callie and I.

"Oh, I love watching you be a dad. God, she is an angel." She gushed. I walked out of the room to see the twins not so patiently waiting by the tree and my parents sitting on one of the couches. I sat on the other couch, the twins looking at me eagerly.

"Before you guys open your presents, I have a present for you guys." I told them and turned around the phone so they could see ShyAnne.

"Hi my babies!" ShyAnne exclaimed.

"MOMMY!" They screamed, running up to me, causing Callie to wail. I sighed and handed the phone to my mom to hold for the twins before taking Callie into my room. I calmed her down and then changed her diaper before bringing her back into the living room. I sat back on the couch and had my mom continue to hold the phone.

"Alright, dad, can you get the kids their presents?" I asked and he nodded, standing up. He started dividing the presents, three being handed to me. The twins tore into their presents, getting mainly toys that will break in a month. It's been a hard few months for them and they've taken the change with stride, so I wanted to spoil them this year. Of course, my parents spoiled them as well.

"Look who else is here!" ShyAnne said once the twins finished opening their presents. She turned the camera to show her parents.

"Grandma! Grandpa!" They cheered, running up to the phone.

"Hi kids!" Her parents exclaimed.

Later that day, ShyAnne got moved to a regular room. She did great overnight so her doctor felt comfortable moving her out of the ICU. I hadn't told the twins I planned to take them to go see her in case something happened that made us unable to do that. 

"I've got one more present for you, but we have to drive there." I told the twins. They nodded and allowed me to put their shoes on. My parents loaded the twins into their rental car since their car seats were still in there. I put Callie in her seat in my car and then we drove to the hospital. We parked and got the kids out. I carried Callie in her car seat while my parents each held the hand of one of the kids. I got visitor's passes for all of us and walked to the room number ShyAnne had given me earlier. I opened the door to see ShyAnne watching TV.

"MOMMY!" Elijah and Eliza screamed, breaking free from my parents' grasps and charging towards ShyAnne. They jumped onto her bed and smothered her with hugs.

"Hi my babies!" She exclaimed, tears filling her eyes. She held them close, just holding them for a few seconds and taking a few deep breaths. "I missed you guys so much." She told them.

"Home soon?" Eliza asked.

"I'll be coming home very soon." She said, nodding. The twins talked with her a bit before before getting off the bed and sitting in empty chairs in the room. I put Callie's carrier into an empty chair and picked her up. She had just woken up from her nap and was staring up at me with her innocent eyes.
