Chapter 102
ShyAnne's POV
*One Month Later*
"Finally." I groaned as I felt the wheels of the plane hit the ground. We decided to go to Ohio for Christmas since there's so many members of Andy's family who have never met the twins. Andy's super excited to take the babies to his hometown and show them around. I keep reminding him that they're only 1 and a half and won't remember, but he doesn't care.
The flight wasn't long but it felt like twenty four hours with how fussy the babies were. I don't understand why they could sit through a ten hour flight overseas but not a four hour flight across the country. Once I got one to stop crying, the other one started. Both of their diapers had to be changed and nothing I brought to keep them entertained worked to calm them down. I was so embarrassed to be that person annoying everybody on the flight with my crying babies.
Once the plane stopped and we were able to stand, I unbuckled my seatbelt and quickly gathered everything, desperate to get off the plane. Andy and I grabbed the babies and our overhead baggage and rushed off the plane. I lowered my head and made it off the plane. We grabbed the stroller that was waiting for us outside and stood off to the side. We put the babies down in the stroller and then rejoined the crowd walking out of the tunnel. We walked through the airport and went down to baggage claim.
"There they are!" Andy said, pointing out his parents in the crowd of people. We walked over to them, his mom throwing up her arms when she saw us.
"Hello!" She exclaimed, hugging Andy as soon as we got close enough. She hugged me and then hugged her grandchildren. "How was the flight?" She asked as Chris greeted us.
"We were the people on the flight with crying babies." I groaned.
"Awh, did someone not have a good time." She cooed to the babies.
"Nothing we did would calm them down for long." I sighed.
"Dad, do you want to help me grab out luggage? We have a bit more things than we did on our last flight out." Andy laughed as he heard the buzzer for our carousel ring.
"Sure." His dad smiled, the two of them walking to where the bags started to drop.
"I'm glad you guys finally made the trip out!"
"Me too, but I think this is the last bit of traveling for us for a while." I laughed. "After the two festivals we went to this summer and traveling out here, I think the twins just want to stay put."
"Fair enough." She shrugged. A few minutes later, Andy and his dad returned with our luggage. We packed similarly to how we did when we went to England, but brought an extra suitcase for the presents. We left the airport and went out to their car in the parking garage. Andy and I quickly strapped in the car seats and put the babies in as Chris loaded our luggage into the trunk. Luckily, his parents had an SUV so there was room for all six of us. We all got in the car, Andy and I squeezing ourselves into the way back.
"I'm too tall for this!" Andy whined, stuffing his feet under the seat in front of him.
"Oh quit your whining." His dad said as he pulled out of the parking garage. Andy picked up his legs and draped them across my lap.
"Andrew, you are almost 33 years old, get your damn legs off of me!" I exclaimed, shoving them off of me. He shifted his body and rested his feet in the aisle between the two captain chairs that the twins were in. We finally made it to his parents house and Andy tumbled out of the car. He picked himself up and went to the trunk to grab our luggage. I got out and pulled Eliza from her seat. Amy held her arms out and I placed Eliza in her arms, going around the car to grab Elijah. His mom and I walked in, Andy and his dad trailing behind us with our luggage. His mom and I sat on the couch while Andy and his dad carried everything up to our room.
