Chapter 25: Salem

ShyAnne's POV

The next morning, we woke up in Salem, Oregon with a day off. A day off meant a day to explore the town. Andy and I got up to eat breakfast and the other members wanted to just relax so we went out on our own to explore. Andy quickly packed a picnic basket for us to have lunch and took it with us.

We decided to start at the Riverfront Carousel. We waited our turn in line and got on two horses that were next to each other. The ride started and I instantly felt like a kid again. All of my worries left me as I closed my eyes. I was no longer thinking about leaving my home and moving away, about trying to find a job, about the uncertainty of Andy and I's future. I just felt bliss and peace as the wind blew through my hair. I opened my eyes and looked over to see Andy with a huge smile on his face. The ride stopped and we got off.

"Wow, I haven't been on one since I was a kid." Andy said as we walked away.

"I know, me either. It was fun." I said, grabbing his hand as we walked. Next we went to go check out the capitol building just to learn a bit of history about the state. After doing a bit more sight seeing, we went to Riverfront Park to have lunch. We sat on the ground and ate lunch from the picnic basket, just sitting and talking. 

After lunch, we went to the Oregon State Hospital- Museum of Mental Health. We spent about an hour there, walking through and learning. It was all very interesting to walk through and see. We saw a few more things and then headed back to the bus to relax before dinner. The five of us went out to a restaurant for dinner and then headed back to the bus.

I was laying down with Andy later that night, trying to go to sleep when I felt the bus moving. In a few hours, we would be in Seattle for the next show.
