Chapter 76: Wedding Anniversary

ShyAnne's POV

*Two Days Later*

"Happy anniversary darling." Andy smiled, kissing the tip of my nose.

"Happy anniversary." I smiled, kissing his lips.

"I figured a little later we would go see Elijah and then go to dinner. My parents already said they can watch Eliza."

"I don't know Andy, should we really leave Eliza that long?"

"Come on, it's been two weeks full of emotions. We need to take this time to celebrate us, just forget about everything else going on."

"Okay." I sighed, putting on a smile for him. To be honest, I didn't want to do anything, but I will move mountains for Andy.

I stood in front of the mirror, pulling my dress tight against my bloated stomach and sighed. I can't work out for at least six weeks to let my incision heal, so I'm stuck looking like a whale. I chose the dress I wore when Andy and I got engaged because I knew it would fit without clinging to my baby weight.

"Stunning." Andy smiled as I walked into the living room.

"I'm fat." I pouted.

"You are not, you just had two babies two weeks ago, give yourself a break honey." He said, walking up to me and kissing my lips.

"Let's go." I sighed, grabbing my purse from the coffee table.

"We'll be back around eight or nine." Andy told his mom, giving Eliza a kiss on the nose before we left. We got in the car and he drove us to the hospital. Andy was wearing a black button down shirt with sleeves that stopped at his elbows and black jeans. We got to the hospital and went straight to the NICU.

"You guys look nice." The nurse smiled as she handed us our gear.

"We're going out to dinner, it's our one year wedding anniversary." Andy said with a smile.

"Awh, that's nice. Congrats you guys." She said as she led us to where the babies were. We walked over to Elijah and sat on either side of him, like clockwork. We spent about thirty minutes with him before leaving to go to dinner.

We got to the restaurant and were seated right away, the two of us taking time to look at the menu. It was nice to be out with just Andy, but I didn't feel like talking. I'm still getting close to no sleep, constantly checking Eliza to make sure she's okay. I'm worried that she'll stop breathing like Elijah.

"ShyAnne, are you even listening to me?" Andy asked.

"I'm sorry babe, I just can't stop thinking about the kids." I said, half-lying. It would break his heart if I told him I just didn't feel like being out of the house right now.

"I know, but let's try to focus on each other, okay?"

"Okay." I said. I was able to focus on Andy when he was talking for the rest of dinner, but I didn't talk much. I'm glad I ordered a small meal because I only finished half of it. I made sure not to eat all day so I could eat a full meal at dinner, but I couldn't even bring myself to do that. We went home and were greeted with Andy's mom sitting on the couch.

"How was dinner?" She asked.

"Great." Andy smiled. We put Eliza to bed and then went to bed ourselves.

"Goodnight my love, I'm grateful for one year of being married to you. I love you so much ShyAnne." Andy said, holding me close.

"I love you too Andy." I said, closing my eyes, knowing I wasn't going to fall asleep.
