Chapter 41: Aftermath

ShyAnne's POV

When I woke up the next morning, alone in bed. That's when it really hit me that he was gone, this was over. I should've known all men are the same, they always leave. I called in sick to work, having no motivation to get out of bed.

"M-Mom." I cried into the phone as soon as she picked up.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" She asked, concerned.

"W-We broke up!" I wailed. I was truly heartbroken. I really thought he was the love of my life. I guess I was wrong.

"What happened?" She asked. I told her the whole story and she sighed.

"ShyAnne, I hate to say it, but it does sound like you were in the wrong."

"What! He broke up with me for stupid reasons!"

"More like valid reasons, sweetheart. He did make endless compromises for you and you made none. He saw you guys weren't going to work out so he ended it instead of stringing you along." 

"Mom, I can't believe you are taking his side!"

"ShyAn-" I hung up and tossed my phone across the room, letting out a scream.

Andy's POV

I was so filled with rage, it took me a few days, but it finally hit me. ShyAnne and I are no more. The woman I thought was the love of my life, is now my past. I cancelled the recording session that day and just moped around in bed. I figured it'd be best to call my parents and tell them so they avoid asking me about her.

"Hello?" My mom answered.

"Hey mom, I just wanted to let you guys know that ShyAnne and I broke up." I said, my voice cracking. Fuck.

"Oh no, what happened!" She sounded more heartbroken than me.

"I-It just wasn't going to work out." I said, starting to cry. "I told her I wanted to move back to LA because of the crash and she refused. Also, I never told you this, but we had a miscarriage before my accident."

"Andy." His mom sighed.

"She has a condition that makes it harder to carry a baby. Because of this, she's decided she never wants kids. I tried to be okay with that, but I'm just not."

"Oh Andy, it'll be okay."

"Am I an asshole for breaking up with her?"

"No, not at all. You guys wanted different things and that's okay."

"Thanks mom." I said, wiping my eyes.

"So how's your leg feeling?" She asked, trying to change the subject.
