The Ukrainian sat, leaned against the door. So, Canada wanted to make the police stop looking for him. He sat and thought for a moment, trying to come up with what to do next. He couldn't just approach America and say 'hey, i've been kidnapped!'. Why? Because Ukraine knew that if America exposed Canada and threatened him, it would give Canada time to get away. He wanted to catch the Canadian off guard with all of this, so the sick bastard couldn't wiggle his way out of the situation.
"Ukraine!" The Ukrainian flinched as he heard his name being called. It was now or never. He slowly stood up, grabbing the door handle, gripping it tightly. Ukraine put on a neutral expression and left the room, going over to Canada.
"You- You called?" Ukraine asked, bowing his head down a bit, trying to avoid looking at America. Canada smiled and nodded, gently grabbing Ukraine's wrist, forcing the slavic to sit down.
"In fact, i did! America and I wanted to just talk to you for a moment! My brother is a bit curious about you and your family." Canada smiled, his grip on Ukraine's wrist tightening.
"O- Oh.. Okay-" Ukraine mumbled, trying to pull his arm free, while making sure USA didn't notice. "W- Well... I-...Uhm-..." Ukraine stuttered, unsure of what to say. He went quiet, looking down. He wasn't the best liar, and he didn't want to let America in on Canada's true, twisted nature just yet.
America cleared his throat, leaning forwards, closer to Ukraine. He placed a gentle hand on the Ukrainian's shoulder, trying to make him feel a bit better. "Hey- i know it's a sore subject, but i just want as much information as you can give me, okay? I want to make everything better for you." America said in a soft, caring voice.
"...I-... I know- I just... My dad-.. H- He tried to strangle me.. I didn't- I didn't know what to do, i- i was scared- so i r- ran away.." Ukraine mumbled, leaning his head back to expose his bruised neck. The bruises were not from USSR, but, in fact, from Canada. He sighed. He didn't need to fake any emotions. Ukraine already felt awful for both lying to the person who could save him, and for dragging his own father's name through mud. USSR has never placed a hand on any of his children..
"Why didn't you call the police?" America asked, a worried look visible on his face. He was genuinely worried for Ukraine, because he knew how hard this must be for him.
Ukraine was about to say something, but felt the grip on his wrist tighten to the point it was painful. He let out a small whimper, looking down to hide his expression. "I- I panicked... I was sc- scared my father w- would find out.." The Ukrainian mumbled, cringing a little bit. It hurt him to lie like that..
"Hey- It's okay.. I know how you feel... I've been through the same thing, and i promise everything will be alright, okay? Come here-" The American gave a small, reassuring smile as he pulled Ukraine into a hug, basically forcing Canada to let go of Ukraine's wrist. The Ukrainian didn't even hesitate to hug back, tears welling up in his eyes. He wanted to go home..
"...Th- Thank you..." Ukraine sniffled, burying his face in America's chest.
Canada glared at the two, especially Ukraine. How dare he go off and ask for America's comfort instead of Canada's?? He growled under his breath, looking away. Fuck it. Once America does what Canada asked him to, Ukraine would be his and only his.
"Alright, alright! We got it, you're upset! Come on-" The Canadian rolled his eyes, grabbing Ukraine by the back of the shirt, forcing him away from America. He picked Ukraine up and carried the smaller male to their room, tossing him onto the bed. He closed the door afterwards, growling. The Canadian didn't say a word and just left the room, leaving Ukraine crying on the bed. So much for 'i'd never hurt you'.
"What was that about, Nada??" America asked, sounding shocked and a bit frustrated. "He was just starting to open up and you just- acted like a complete dick!"
"He's fine, Ame. Stop overreacting! He just needs some time alone to calm down!" Canada hissed, walking off into the kitchen. He didn't like the fact that America was trying to get closer to Ukraine. Ukraine was his, not America's. The older man needed to back the fuck off and do as he was told to.
"Yeesh.." America huffed, standing up. Yeah, as if being all alone was what Ukraine needed. America has been through this, he knows Ukraine's needs much better than Canada. He walked over to the bedroom door, knocking on it. "May i come in, Ukraine..?" The American asked softly.
After a small, quiet hum was heard, America opened the door and stepped inside. He took out the key from the lock and closed the door, locking it behind himself so Canada couldn't interrupt again.
"I'm very sorry about my brother. He's just- man, i don't know- He doesn't normally act like this." America said, walking over to the bed, sitting down next to Ukraine. He frowned as he heard faint sniffles come from the Ukrainian.
"Awh- Come here." The older man said, gently pulling Ukraine into a hug. This time, Ukraine just clung onto America's shirt, his sniffled starting to die down. After a minute or two, Ukraine looked up, his eyes red and his cheeks tear stained.
"...I-...Th- There's something i- i- i should tell you.."
