A soft groan left Ukraine's lips as he opened his eyes. He was in bed... But... It wasn't the bedroom he'd been sleeping in previously. He sat up, flinching as he heard a soft snore come from right beside him. Canada. Right- right, he was here. Ukraine's memory of yesterday was all over the place, but what he knew for certain was he had to leave. He had to.... But- did he actually have to? It could wait- everything could- no! Gosh no! What was he even thinking about-??

"..Are you alright?" Canada groggily asked, sitting up, rubbing his eyes. "Yes- Yes! I'm alright-" Ukraine answered, shaking his head, trying to rid himself of the thoughts that were nearly giving him a headache. "You sure?" The Canadian asked, yet again, just to make sure. Ukraine nodded in response, getting up from the bed, but- something was off. Why was it so damn cold? Ukraine looked down and found the answer.

"Where are mY clOTHES???" Ukraine squealed, quickly covering his chest and torso. Thankfully he still had his boxers. "They're on the arm chair." Was the only answer Ukraine got, despite having many more questions. How in the hell did they get there? Ukraine, ever since he got kidnapped had always slept with his clothes on, and, surely, he would not have made that exception, especially with Canada around. "wH-" Ukraine was promptly cut off. "You kept tossing and turning, and sweating a lot so i took them off." Canada explained, getting up as well, stretching his arms up into the air.
"YoU caNt dO tHAT!!" Ukraine squealed.
"Yes i can."
"Can nOT!"
"Can too." Canada snorted.
"You could've at least asked firSt-" The Ukrainian whined, quickly making his way over to the arm chair Canada had referred to, putting on his pants, but- there was no shirt. Ukraine hugged himself, mostly trying to hide as much skin as possible as he looked over at the Canadian.

"I didn't want to wake you up, you look so cute when you're asleep." Canada giggled as he made the bed. Of course, the Canadian's laughter did not go unnoticed as Ukraine's face turned red with embarrassment, although he did feel a little uneasy from the statement alone. "No i don't!! Why do you even watch me sleep??" Ukraine gave Canada a faltering glare, which only made the other laugh. With a wave of his hand, Canada replied with a "Because you're cute." and nothing else.

Ukraine rolled his eyes. "Can you please give me my shirt back?" Ukraine asked, averting his gaze. Why did he feel so comfortable with Canada around? This is the most he's talked in the past few days and Australia really did try to hold conversations with him, it just- never worked. "No can do, Aussie washed it, it's probably still wet." Canada said, walking over to the closet. He put on a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt, buttoning it up before giving Ukraine a glance. "I can give you one of my shirts, if you'd like." He offered with a soft smile. It wasn't a smug, vicious smile, nor was it a forced one. It was- genuine.

Ukraine stood quiet for a moment. "Aussie's shirts would fit me better-" He was about to protest, but was cut off. "No!" Canada hissed in a bitter tone, before grabbing a sweatshirt from the closet, holding it out for Ukraine as the Canadian's lips curled into a sweet smile.

"...U- Uhm- okay-" Ukraine mumbled, hesitantly accepting the shirt. He put it on. "Thank....you." The Ukrainian sat down on the bed and Canada was quick to follow. "You're welcome!! It looks absolutely stunning on you!" Canada purred, leaning closer to Ukraine, but before he could borrow his face in the Slavic's neck, Ukraine stood up. "...Дякую. (Thank you.) I... Appreciate it." The younger of the two whispered, quickly leaving the room.

Canada remained seated on the bed, staring at the door as it closed behind Ukraine, a disappointed sigh leaving his lips. He hesitantly looked down, before letting himself fall back onto the bed, feeling- something. It was certainly not a pleasant feeling.

...

Ukraine walked into living room, where Australia sat and watched the television. It didn't have many channels and it certainly had no interesting channels at all. "Oh- er- hey, Aussie-" Ukraine hesitantly approached the sofa. Australia didn't look up at him. "...Would-....Would you have room for one more-?" He asked, standing patiently as he waited for an answer.

"Sure." Australia shrugged, but then her mouth shut and no more words left her. It was odd, and certainly awkward for Ukraine, but he sat down, keeping a small distance between them. "...How's it going-?" Ukraine asked, looking over at Australia, who's expression soured. "I thought we were friends, man!" She snapped, looking back at Ukraine with a hurt expression. "I can't believe you'd do that! To me!" Australia scoffed, standing up. She was kind and all, but- she couldn't do this. No. She couldn't just forgive someone who had a blade to her throat, fully willing to slit it. Australia walked away, fists clenched, leaving Ukraine all alone on the couch, head bowed down in shame.

...

Ukraine sat on the sofa, absolutely lost in thought. He didn't even notice the tears streaming down his face until Canada shook him. "Ukraine!!" He almost yelled, sitting down beside the Ukrainian. "H- Huh?" The other raised his head and looked at Canada with a rather confused, yet a distraught look, which only made Canada frown. "I was speaking to you and you wouldn't answer me- are you alright, what happened??" Canada asked, cupping Ukraine's cheeks. As soon as the other's hands touched his skin, Ukraine flinched and retreated, shuffling away from Canada, trying to breathe properly. "...Ukraine?" Canada asked, leaning closer. "...Hey, Ukraine, it's alright... I'm here- i'm here." He tried his best to comfort Ukraine. He outstretched his arms for a hug, deciding to let Ukraine come to him instead.

"...P- Promise you won't- you won't hurt me...?" Ukraine whispered, which took Canada by surprise.
"What-?? Of course i won't! Darling, i'd never hurt you without a reason..." Canada replied in an equally quiet tone.
"Do you promise...?"
"I do." Canada nodded, keeping his arms stretched out. Ukraine hesitated, but slowly crawled into the other's arms. He held Ukraine tightly, leaning back slightly as the Ukrainian rested his head on Canada's chest. "I wish we could stay like this forever.." Canada said softly, rubbing the other's back with an unusually gentle touch. Ukraine didn't even know Canada's rough hands could make a touch that gentle. It was as if Canada was handling one of the most fragile objects to ever exist. It... It made Ukraine feel something deep in his heart.
