"Hurt who? What are you talking about-?" Canada asked, kneeling down beside Ukraine, placing a warm blanket over his shoulders, before picking him up. "I've been worried sick! There's nothing but wilderness out here! You could've gotten hurt, or worse-" Canada rubbed Ukraine's back, as it was becoming increasingly obvious that the Ukrainian wasn't listening.  Soft sniffles and sobs left Ukraine's throat as he tried to choke back tears. It didn't work. "...Lets go home." Canada sighed, nuzzling into Ukraine's neck as he began to walk back.

"...C- Canada...?" Ukraine finally broke the awful silence between them, which made Canada pull away from his neck to look down. "Yes, darling?" The Canadian replied in a calm, docile tone. It was rather strange, as Ukraine had ran away and- wasn't Canada supposed to be mad-? God, it was both a relief and the complete opposite at the same time. "....Is-....Uhm-... Is Russia- Well-... Okay-?" The slavic asked, quietly, which left Canada curious. "Why are you asking?" The Canadian replied with a question of his own, which only made it obvious that he was avoiding giving the answer.

"Yes or no-...?" Ukraine pressed on.
"Of course." Canada gave a soft smile. "Why would i ever hurt someone who means so much to my little Ukraine?"
"You... hurt Poland."

Canada's grip on Ukraine tightened. "Lets not talk about that fool. He wanted to take you away from me." The Canadian's tone was becoming more blunt with each word that left his mouth. God, just the thought of Poland made his blood boil... But... He could never be mad at his poor Ukrainian without a proper reason. "...I... I really liked him, you know..." Ukraine mumbled, closing his eyes. "That's why i gutted him." Canada grumbled, his soft, caring tone now gone completely. "If you had just said you loved me back, he wouldn't be dead right now." He growled, staring dead ahead.

Ukraine didn't respond to that statement, because he knew Canada was right. It was his fault. With all of the thoughts piling up in his already overwhelmed mind, another question arose.

"If i say i love you, will you promise me that no one else will get hurt...?" Ukraine asked, and a response was quick to be given. "Ukie, love, i don't want you to just say you love me, i want you to show me that you love me." Canada said, once more beginning to rub the other's back. Ukraine tensed up for a moment, before slowly relaxing in Canada's grip, as there was nothing else he could have done. He felt so tired, but his subconscious did not allow him to even close his eyes for more than a second. That nightmare, god that awful, awful nightmare.. It kept replaying in his head.. Ukraine whined, hiding his face in Canada's shoulder.

"Mm?" Canada looked down. "What is it, dear?" He questioned, cocking his head to the side to give Ukraine more room.  Ukraine did not answer the question. Instead, he squeezed his eyes shut and just tried to picture Russia being the one carrying him, soothing him... Where was Russia? Why hadn't he still come to save Ukraine? Why hadn't his father showed up by now? Why? If it had been Belarus to disappear, everyone wouldve gone looking for her... It made the hurt and anguish turn into something worse. Into something that could easily force one to make rash decisions... Jealousy.

"....I'm...I- I'm sorry... For trying to- For trying to run away..." Ukraine spoke quietly, just loud enough for Canada to hear over the footsteps. "I won't try it again.." He muttered, his grip on Canada's coat tightening.

"Promise?" Canada asked, his tone of voice being a lot more gentle than before... He almost sounded hesitant. "Mhm..." Ukraine nodded. "I promise..." The Ukrainian mumbled. He wouldn't try running away. Not until he knew for certain that his family cared about him... And that his disappearance left a hole in their family... Because if not, what was the point of going back? Why spend his time with people who did not care about him when he could be....here.....with Canada. A person who obviously held Ukraine dear to his hear and went as far as to show it.

They soon arrived back home. Canada carried Ukraine off into Canada's room, setting him down on the bed. "Go ahead and get undressed, the bed is nice and warm, trust me." Canada gave a small laugh, to which Ukraine played along. "Of course..." The Ukrainian began taking his clothes off, trying to ignore the way Canada glanced over at him far too frequently. God, it made him feel uncanny. Once the two of them had undressed, Ukraine made himself comfortable under the warm sheets, letting his back face the side Canada would be sleeping on. Did he want to sleeo there? No. He really didn't... But if it meant keeping his family safe, that's what he had to do.

The Ukrainian flinched as he felt those large arms wrap around him, pulling him in close. "Goodnight, Ukie... Love you." Canada purred into his ear, nuzzling into the Ukrainian's hair. "...Oh- uhm- goodnight to you.." Ukraine hesitated. "I-...erm..."

"I- I love you too...-!"
