//Yeehaw, inspiration goes brmmmmm//

Ukraine sat still, an awkward silence between him and the woman. Not even the radio could drown out the feeling of anxiety he got as he sat, keeping his hands behind his back. He was unsure of what to do. They had been on the road for yet another hour and still, no town in sight. He was growing uneasy. Where were they even going? It was always one dirt road after another.

The Ukrainian looked up into the rearview mirror, examining the woman's expression. Her eyes seemed to be glued to the road, but behind her sunglasses, he couldn't tell.

"...U- Uhmmm.... H- How long until we g- g- get there...?" Ukraine asked, his voice being rather shaky. "A few minutes. We're almost there." She replied, making Ukraine's face go pale. Fuck- if he had only a few minutes left to make up his mind, how was he supposed to do this?? He couldn't wait for them to get there, as his arms were free and the woman would probably assume he was going to hurt her- That wouldn't end well. What if she had a gun-?

A few minutes passed as Ukraine forced himself to sit still. He let out a soft whimper as he shifted in his seat, unsure of what to do. Before he could even manage to think of something, the woman slammed on the brakes, causing Ukraine to slam into the seat in front of him, due to not having a seatbelt on.

"O- Ow-!" Ukraine whined. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stop so suddenly. We're here." She said, looking back. Unknown to Ukraine, her expression changed as she saw the Ukrianian holding onto the seat in front of him, the rope that held his hands together nowhere in sight. "Mh, you're a clever one, aren't you?" She asked, being quite amused, actually.

"...Wh- What-?" Ukraine asked, leaning back in his seat, no longer trying to hide his arms. "You managed to free yourself without me noticing. That's cute." She said, pulling her facemask down, revealing a smile. It wasn't a cruel or a bitter smile, but- a gentle, lighthearted one. It caught Ukraine off guard.

"...W- Wait- I- I- I wasn't- I wasn't going t- to hurt you-!" Ukraine squeaked, genuinely expecting the lady to pull a gun on him or something. "Oh- shoot- I didn't mean to scare you. I'm not going to hurt you either. You can calm down." She said, a new emotion appearing in her voice. Pity.

"...Y- You're not...?" The Slavic asked, looking at the other skeptically. "No- i don't do that. That's Nada's thing." She smiled. Ukraine gave a small, hesitant nod.

"Come on, you can get out of the car now." She said, killing the engine, before opening the car door, stepping outside. Ukraine followed suit. Instead of running or trying to escape, Ukraine decided to just- go with it. She didn't seem so bad. And besides! He was hours away from home, and probably not anywhere near civilization.

"We'll- no, you'll be staying here." The gal mumbled, pointing over to a wooden cabin. Geez- what was it with people and cabins? The Ukrainian didn't respond. He just looked down at the ground, unsure of what to think at this point.

"What's the matter?" She asked, actually sounding a bit worried. "Wh- What's the matter?! A- Are you serious??? I- I've been kidnapped and now i can be damn sure that i'll never see my pa again-! I- I- I'll- I'll never see h- him again... Or- Or my sublings..." Ukraine snapped on her, a few tears rolling down his face. He sniffled, wiping away his tears. God, he should've just swallowed the bottle of pills when he had the chance...

"H- Hey-! It'll be okay. I'm sorry you have to go through this.." The woman mumbled, pulling Ukraine into a hug. Or- well, she tried to, but Ukraine shoved her away. "No, y- you're not sorry!! If you w- were, y- y- you would've taken m- me home!!" Ukraine hissed. God, he was a mess. "I- I'm sorry! You're not the only one with someone on the line!" She cut back, trying to talk some sense into Ukraine.

"Then why d- d- didn't you c- call the police?!!" The Ukrainian yelled, trying to get the woman to just- listen. "Because then C- Canada would've hurt America! H- He said- He said that if i d- dont do this, he'll- he'll kill America... A- And then himself..." The lady looked aside.

Ukraine's look softened at those words. He knew that if Canada said something like that, he'd sure as hell do it if it came to that. Who even was this woman? Why was Canada and America so important to her? The Ukrainian hesitated, but soon pulled her into a hug.

Now that her facemask was off, Ukraine got to take a closer look at her face. Her flag was- mostly blue with a few stars here and there. It- It seemed familiar, but the Ukrainian couldn't place his finger on it. "I- I- I'm sorry... F- For yelling..." Ukraine said. He looked over her shoulder. The car. He could probably overpower her, grab the keys and drive away-...

No- He couldn't. Ukraine could never bring himself to do that to someone. Especially someone who is going through so much pain... And- if doing so endangered America, he needed to take a day or two, come up with a plan and do things right. That's what Ukraine was good at. Planning. And with the woman's help and connection with Canada, Ukraine could probably do this... He had to. If not for himself, then for his father, siblings and America.
