Deeper into the cave, the corridor slowly became wider. Rey and Miles walked slowly into the new space and looked around. A little golden sphinx lay on the ground. It's eyes were glowing red.
''Is this one of the artefacts?'' Miles asked.
''Hmm, I am a little bit skeptical. Try to pick it up, Miles,'' Rey said, while trying her best to look sceptical.
As soon as Miles touched the sphinx, a sound came out of it. ''WHO WANTS TO PICK UP THE ARTEFACT HAS TO SOLVE MY RIDDLE FIRST,'' a very deep voice said.
''Holy flip!'' Miles said and he stepped backwards.
''THE RIDDLE GOES AS FOLLOWS: WHICH CREATURE WALKS ON FOUR LEGS IN THE MORNING, TWO LEGS IN THE AFTERNOON AND ON THREE LEGS IN THE EVENING?''
''The fuck?'' Miles said.
''WRONG!'' the sphinx said and it grew slowly. The sphinx was no longer the size of an eraser, but the size of a small pencil case.
''Oh, shit! It is growing slowly! We can't take it with us if it gets any bigger,'' Rey said, but once she realised this, it was already too late. Again it sounded: ''WRONG!'' The sphinx grew to the size of a hand bag.
Rey pulled Miles on his arm back into the corridor and whispered: ''We have to know the answer first, before we are getting squashed by a mega sphinx.''
''I have no idea, dude!'' Miles said just a bit too loud, causing the sphinx to say ''WRONG'' again and for it to grow to the size of a suitcase.
''THE FUCK-'' Miles wanted to yell, but Rey covered his mouth with her hand.
''Quiet!'' she whispered angrily. Rey thought, she knew this riddle, but she didn't remember the answer.
''Okay,'' Miles whispered back. ''Is it maybe something like a werewolf? A werewolf walks on two legs during the day and on four at night?''
''Hmm.. no, I don't think so...'' Rey said.
''No okay, that makes no sense, because it never has three legs.''
''It is not a weird creature I think... It has to be a tRichard question... Oh, I know! A human!''
Miles looked at Rey and whispered quietly: ''What?''
''A human! A baby crawls on hands and feet, four legs, an adult walks on two legs and an elderly walks with a cane, that is one leg extra,'' Rey explained.
''Holy flip! Wow, yes!'' Miles was impressed.
Together they walked back to the sphinx, nodded at each other and said simultaneously: ''The answer is a human.''
''CORRECT!'' the sphinx sounded, before shrinking to its original size. The eyes of the sphinx were not glowing anymore. Miles picked up the little sphinx and put it in his pocket. Rey and Miles gave each other a high five and walked further into the cave with full confidence, one of the five artefacts obtained.
