The Ball of Balls

Chapter 47

The group now stood in the ballroom across from Wade, who wasn't that happy about sending all his knights into the castle.

''Step down, father,'' Robert said.

''Why should I?'' Wade said, while making a fireball in his hands with black magic.

''The people need a king who doesn't care about power,'' Miles said bravely.

Wade angrily threw a fireball at Miles, but Robert tackled Miles, thereby saving him. Dean conjured up a big dress around the fire, that spread across the floor, to put it out. Knight Lewis walked casually into the ballroom with Charlotte and Samantha and said to Wade: ''Your highness, the wine ran out.''

''YOU ARE ALL DRIVING ME MAD!'' Wade exclaimed. His eye fell on the bubble Barbara was in and stepped towards it. As if he were some firebender from Avatar, Wade threw a wave of fire towards the bubble, but it didn't snap. Wade's face looked frustrated. Normally his dark magic works very effectively, but Dean's good magic was just a little bit stronger.

''Wade saw the caterpillars on the ground and turned them into big basilisks. Lewis, Charlotte, Samantha and Yannick ran away out of fear. Yannick was traumatized enough by big snakes and Lewis, Charlotte and Samantha preferred to drink wine somewhere safely.

Taytay teleported on the neck of one of the basilisks and started to ride it.

''Richard, that's gross! It's no nut november!'' Dean shouted.

Robert threw Miles a sword and started to fight the basilisks. Miles was impressed by Robert's sword fighting skills, but tried to not show it.

Wade made a big hammer out of fire and started to slam the bubble with it. Dean made, for once, not a dress, but a wave of water stream into the ballroom. The room was filled up to the knees of king Wade.

''Bruh, we are getting wet, too!'' Miles said, wet.

Barbara's bubble floated on the water towards king Wade. Rey swam after her, because walking in water was too much effort. Wade grabbed the bubble and started heating it. Barbara looked shocked and turned around for help, but it was already too late. The bubble burst and Barbara splashed into the water. Wade bent forwards and instead of Barbara, Rey came out of the water with a sword. She stood in front of Barbara to protect her.

''This stops, now!'' Rey said.

''You can't stop me that easily!'' Wade responded, while making another fireball. Rey stood ready to receive the blow, but at that moment a soft voice said: ''Wade?''

Yolanda emerged slowly from her hiding spot, with tears streaming down her face. Wade only had to look one second at her, before the fire in his hands extinguished.

Yolanda waded through the water towards Wade and said quietly: ''What's this?''

''Darling, I only want the best for us! Look around. All these failures. I can change that...'' Wade said and the knights looked up indignantly.

''There is no need for violence,'' Yolanda said, while looking around to the wounded group intruders.

''Failures?'' Mark said, who had sneaked into the ballroom. ''We do everything you ask and more!'' Mark pulled off his armor and threw it in the water angrily. The other knights, like Jacob and Zara, followed Mark's example.

''How dare you raise your voice at me like that?'' Wade said furiously and his hands lit up with fire again. ''Put your harnesses back on and get those intruders!''

Some knights wanted to put their armor back on, but Robert stopped them: ''Stop! Don't listen to him!''

''We have to,'' Jacob responded. ''We want to see our families again.''
