The Ball of Balls

Chapter 6

''How big is this shitty forest?'' Miles whined.

''Animals shit a lot in this forest,'' Rey responded dryly.

''If we aren't at the witch's cabin in 3 seconds, I will eat my shoe,'' Miles continued.

''I have just given you a donut. Are you still hungry?''

''I can eat a ho-'' Miles said, before getting interrupted by Rey: ''We are here!''

Rey and Miles arrived at the cabin of the witch and hid in the bushes. The cabin was decorated with candy. The roof was made of gingerbread and the window sills were made of candy canes. In the garden stood lollipops that looked like flowers. Miles started drooling.

''You can see that the witch likes candy. The spells she uses are therefore mostly candy related. I have tried to capture the map to the golden ring before, but I didn't succeed. Her magic does weaken as she uses more spells, though,'' Rey said.

Miles put a lollipop in his mouth. The doors of the hut opened and a little witch came out. She wore her long brown hair in a braid, that was tied together with laces of licorice.

''Nibble, nibble, little fret! Who is nibbling at my flower bed?'' the witch shouted. ''I smell you!''

''I should have worn deodorant,'' Miles said, while sniffing his armpits.

''I thought you wanted to go to a ball, did you want to go without deodorant?'' Rey responded.

''I do not only have a good nose, I can also hear you,'' the witch said.

Rey and Miles stood up, so that they weren't hiding behind a bush anymore. Rey pulled her sword and Miles spans the bow he got from Rey. The witch didn't seem intimidated and said: ''Ha! You think that you can defeat me? Just the two of you? Don't you know who I am? I am Rachel the Candy Witch! Nobody comes near my hut!''

Miles raised a brow to Rey and whispered: ''Is she trying to threaten us with candy?''

''I sure am!'' Rachel shouted, while she used her magic to hit Miles in the face with a big lollipop. Rey ran to Rachel with her sword, but Rachel swung her away telekinetically by a spell. Rey rolled over the ground, but stood up quickly. Miles shot an arrow to Rachel, but missed. Rachel conjured up monkeys made of candy and they surrounded Rachel, showing their teeth. Rey ran past one of the monkeys and cut Rachel in her leg. Rachel screamed and immediately a mad monkey attacked Rey. The monkey bit her in her arm, but was killed by one of Miles's arrows. Miles shot some more arrows and the monkeys fell one by one. Rey decapitated a few more and the last arrow Miles shot went straight through the eye of a monkey.

''Puddiminosa!'' Rachel shouted and the ground beneath Miles turned into pudding.

''Help! I am stuck in... pudding?'' Miles shouted at Rey, who was blasted away by a storm of licorice. Rey sat on the ground chewing on a piece of licorice, but stood up to help Miles.

''YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME!'' Rachel screamed and she threw her mantle dramatically in the air.

Meanwhile, Rey got Miles out of the pudding and she said: ''We need magical help, we can't do this on our own.''

''I am calling Dean,'' Miles said. He looked up at the sky and shouted: ''DEEEEEAAAAAAAN!''

Dean appeared and said: ''Guys, what's this? I was just busy designing a dress for one Charlotte. Where is Taytay? This is not my problem.''

''We need your help! Look!'' Miles said, pointing at Rachel.

In slow motion, Dean turned his head to the witch and stared at his arch enemy. His face went serious and he grabbed his fairy wand. Rachel reacted quickly and surrounded her cabin with fire. She went inside and closed the doors behind her.

''No worries guys. If you look closely, you can see that the fire consists of cotton candy liquid,'' Dean said and he walked through the flames.

''Yolo!'' Rey ran after Dean, with her sword pointed in front of her.

While Dean and Rey ran to the door, Miles went to the back of the cabin. Dean opened the door dramatically, but Rachel already escaped via the backdoor. Miles saw Rachel running away with a little chest and in a reflex he let the arrow in his hand loose. The arrow landed in Rachel's leg and she tripped.

Dean came through the backdoor and walked towards Rachel. He flicked his wand and made a dress out of led, out of which Rachel couldn't escape.

There sat Rachel, bound in an ugly dress on the ground, bleeding from her arm and leg, holding a chest.

''How are you, my best friend?'' Dean said as sarcastic as possible, making Miles's eyes roll. Rachel looked at Dean with a sour face.

''You can give that to me,'' Rey said, while she snatched the chest very subtly from Rachel's hands. Rey opened it and Miles looked with her to what was inside. The chest was full of marshmallows and chocolates, but there was something else beneath. Rey put a few chocolates in her mouth, while Miles looked at was was hidden underneath: a map. This was the map that they were looking for. Rey looked at Miles happily and said: ''The map to the ring!''

''Alright girls, I don't have time for this. I have to go. But you know it, Miles: shout my name, and I will come,'' Dean said, before flying away with big butterfly wings. Rey and Miles ignored him, too intrigued by the map, and studied a vague clue that probably led to the location of the ring.

''Ehm.. right. I think that we should follow these instructions. What do you think?'' Miles asked Rey.

''I never got this far... but I think so...'' Rey answered.

Miles broke a piece of gingerbread from the roof of the hut and put it in his mouth. Rachel gave him an indignant look.

''Nibble nibble, little mouse... STOP EATING MY HOUSE!'' Rachel shouted after Rey and Miles when they walked further into the forest.

And there they went, with full confidence, looking for the golden ring with the help of this mysterious map.
