"Hey." The voice was distant but I still heard it. "Hey Noah, wake up we're here."

I opened my eyes to reveal Cameron sitting beside me. I looked around me and saw that I was leaning back on the door with my legs propped up in front of me. I sat up and turned in my seat, stretching the sleep out of my body. I looked out the window and saw that the sun was shining down on an unknown surrounding. That's how I knew that we were far from Manisville and now in the sweet town of Harlingwood. Slowly, excitement filled my body and before I knew it, I jumped out of the car and walked to the trunk to grab my stuff, followed by Cameron. I picked up my last-minute bag while he grabbed a couple of the boxes and lead me up to the front door.

There was definitely work done on the extirior of the house. Last I remembered from this place was that it had white boarding and black awnings. Those features remained but now the walkway from the driveway up to the porch steps was stone instead of wood. Along the outside of the walkway was a thin garden decorated with little bunches of flowers and small lights. The flowerbed was lined on both sides with little white pebble stones. It looked young yet sophisticated, which is exactly the type of woman my mom was.

I smiled at Cameron as he unlocked the door. It was about noon when we arrived, so the bright sun was beating down on my back, heating it nicely as the wind cooled it off from getting too hot. I sighed in content as I looked at the door to the house, my house. It was big and made of a dark brown wood. The handle was made of a golen yellow metal and the lock of the same metal. Cameron pushed down on the handle and opened the door, allowing me to walk in before him. My jaw dropped. The house looked quite different from when I last saw it.

On my right was the living room. The walls were a dark cream colour and all the furniture was brown suede. There was a flat screen TV with a complete surround sound system. There was a long couch with 3 cushions across the room from a loveseat. In the farthest corner was a small computer desk complete with a lamp, a black laptop and a rolling computer chair. Straight across from where I was standing, was a tall lamp that was bright enough to light up the rest of the living room and the hall that head to the backyard. From here, I could see the in-ground pool and some of the garden that was back there. The floors throughout the hall was hardwood whereas in the living room, the floor was carpeted. Attached to the wall behind the end of the living room was a flight of stairs that lead to the second floor.

On my left was the kitchen. It had a scattered glass tile backsplash between the the counters and hovering cupboards which were light brown in colour. Above the cupboards, the rest of the wall was a light sky blue. Imbedded into the granite counter tops was a black stone top stove and oven. The dishwasher was beside the double sink in front of a window. The sill was decorated with a long pot of flowers.

Connected to the kitchen was a dining room. From where I stood, I could see a semi-long wooden table in the center of the room surrounded by 6 chairs made of the same wood. Hanging from the ceiling was a medium sized chandelier that lit the entire room. In the middle of the table sat an arrangement of red, orange and pink flowers. The over all feeling of the house was happy and cozy and it felt very homey. I could tell that I would be able to get used to calling this place home very easily.

"Cameron, is that you already?" someone called from usptairs.

"It is and I brought company," he answered from behind me walking in the door with the rest of my stuff from the car.

Mom came out of a room dressed in an old t-shirt tied at the back and a pair of jeans. Her hair had gotten longer since the last time I'd seen her and was pulled into a bun at the back of her head. I smiled up at her and her jaw dropped. She looked down at me and smiled with little pools forming at the bottom of her green eyes. I got most of my features from my mom, such as my green eyes and my dark brown wavy hair. I got my tanned skin tone from dad though.
