After dinner, we all sat in the living room watching all the boys play COD against each other. I was snuggled up beside a very focused Logan and Hunter was sitting beside me. I wasn't sure who it was, but someone just got shot and I flinched.
"Damn dude, give me some slack," Hunter complained. "I got my girl sitting right here."
"Speaking of which," Jaxon started with a devilish grin. "I think we should put the couples against each other, girls vs. boys."
My eyes widened and I looked over at Sarah, who was grinning wickedly at Hunter. "Hell yeah," she exclaimed.
"Alright, shes in! What about you, Noah? You gonna play?" Max asked.
"Umm..." I stammered.
"Noah..." Sarah complained
"Come on baby," Logan whispered in my ear. "They all want to see me kick your ass."
I sighed defeatedly. "You guys are never going to let me live it down if I say no, are you?"
"Nope," Sarah said.
"Fine."
Jaxon grinned widely and threw me a controller. I caught it and Logan scooted closer to me so he could show me how to use it. I knew all the controls and just as we were about to start I halted everyone and got up to go upstairs to grab my iPod out of Logan's room. As if reading my mind as if she knew what I was going for, Sarah asked me to grab hers too. I nodded and ran upstairs. I grabbed mine off of the side table in Logan's bedroom and walked into Hunters room across the hall to grab Sarah's off of his dresser. I plugged my earphones in as I descended the stairs and threw Sarah's at her. She caught it and put her earphones in too. She looked at me as I was scrolling trough my songs.
"What are we going with?" she asked.
"97 and 106," I replied with a wide grin on my face. We always had a system where whenever we're playing video games or doing something with a lot of concentration, we have specific songs that we listen to on our iPods. I like to think of it as a focus strategy.
"Ooh. I feel sorry for you guys."
"Why?" Hunter asked.
"Because Noah's getting legit with this."
"Ooh, I'm so scared," Logan teased beside me.
"You should be. Start it now Sarah."
We were forced to play on Max and Jaxon's accounts and of course because I had Jaxon's controller, I had to play on his account. He told me not to screw up and I just smirked at him. As we started the game, the song I chose picked up and blared through the earphones and into my head. I was leaned up against the armrest of the couch with my knees pulled into my chest while Logan was hunched over on his elbows. I shot someone and smiled when I realized it was Hunter. I saw his jaw dropout of the corner of my eye and smiled. Unfortunately he had more lives and was able to keep playing. Sarah shot him again. And he just laughed and shot her again. There was definitely a rivalry goin. On there and I was happy that none of the attention was on me.
About half an hour into our game, both Sarah and Hunter were down to their last lives while I was still going strong with only 3 lives gone. Logan had 2 left and was now just hiding behind a bush in protection. He shot Sarah as she ran by where he was and I shot Hunter since all his attention was on Sarah. So now they were both out and it was just me and Logan. He finally came out of hiding and I shot him in the back of the head. He looked over at me with his eyebrows raised. I raised mine back and turned back to the television. He was nowhere in sight and as I turned around, he shot me in the chest.
