Chapter 44: Save Me

Logan walked into the room looking around frantically followed by Cameron and Hunter. His eyes found me and a look of relief washed over his face. He sighed and started towards me. I stood up and met him halfway. He wrapped his arms around my waist and crashed his lips on mine. I threw my arms eagerly around his neck and pulled him closer. Our lips moved in sync as we kissed like it had been forever. I pulled away, breathing heavily and just looked down. He took my face in his hands and brought my lips to his for a quick peck. He rested his forehead on mine and just looked into my eyes. I could feel more tears fall out of my eyes. He used his thumb to wipe them away, all the while keeping his gaze on me.

"I told you not to come for me," I whispered.

"I wasn't just going to leave you," he said. "You could have been in danger."

"You're going to be if you don't get out of here."

"I'd rather I be in danger than you."

"But I don't want that, Logan. Can you not just listen to me for this one time please?"

"Not when it puts you at risk. I won't do it."

"Awe, how sweet," Antonio said. I didn't even know he was in the room, but there he was emerging from the shadows with his arms crossed over his chest. "You should have listened to your girlfriend Logan."

He pulled me closer to him. "What do you want with her?"

"Oh nothing now, she did her job."

"Her job?"

"Well, she got to here didn't she? Now she's of no use to me, to either of us really."

"What are you talking about, she's my girlfriend."

"Yes, good you're starting to understand. Do you remember all those times we had getting into trouble. Man those days were fun, huh buddy?"

I looked up at Logan and his eyes were hard. "I guess you could say that."

"Too bad Jessica got in the way of all that."

I saw a flash of amusement run trough his eyes and he looked at me for a brief second. "Yes, too bad."

'I have a plan to get out of this, but you're going to have to trust me and do everything I tell you to, no matter the extent. Do you understand?' he said to me through mindlink.

'Everything?' I asked.

'Everything. The boys know it too but it depends on you'

'I trust you Logan, don't get hurt'

'I wont. For starters I want you to get mad at me on my cue'

"I mean, how dare she get in the way of our friendship," Antonio said glaring at Logan.

"I couldn't agree more. But she was just a girlfriend," Logan replied dismissively.

"Isn't that why you're here though, to save your girlfriend?"

"Because she's of use to me. I need her around to do the things I don't want to."

I saw Sean's eyes widen and Logan squeezed my hand. I took that as his cue and pushed away from him. "Excuse me?" I asked.

"I mean, I love you."

"Bullshit! If that's all I was to you then why go through all the trouble of treating me the way you did? Why not just treat me like my father did?"

"I needed to keep you around somehow."

He reached out for me and although I wanted to go to him, I backed away. I was supposed to be mad at him and the worst thing for me to do is to make it seem like I still cared after what he just said. "Get away from me."
