I woke up the next morning and saw that Sophia wasn't in the bed beside me anymore. I looked over at the clock and it read 9:30am, so I assumed that someone came in to get her for school. I rolled over onto my stomach and sighed deeply, working up the courage to actually get out of bed. I sat up finally and realized that I left my hair in the ponytail I had it in for my costume last night. Frustrated, I trudged to the bathroom and hopped in the shower. I washed my hair thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner to work out any tangles that may have formed over the course of the night. I used quite a bit of hairspray and leave in conditioner last night to keep the curls in my hair. I was going to wash it out before I went to be but I guess I got too tired and decided against it. I stopped the water and wrapped a towel around my hair and body. I stepped out of the stall and dried off.
I retreated back into my room and got dressed in something simple; jean shorts and a red and white t-shirt. I then took my hair out of the towel and gave it a quick ruffle and went downstairs, letting it air-dry. I went downstairs and turned to the kitchen. I saw Logan standing up against the island. When he heard me enter the room, he looked up. His face displayed extreme lack of sleep and a slight bit of desperation. When his gaze met mine, his eyes held sorrow and pain. He had bags under his eyes and a big red mark on his face.
He stood up. "Noah..."
"What happened to you?" I asked, cutting him off from whatever he was going to say. He looked too weak. I rushed over to him and brought my hand up to his face. I now saw that there was some swelling in his face as well as a small cut on his cheek.
"Nothing, I'm fine. But..."
"Don't lie to me. Logan Markus Stateson, what happened?"
"I guess Mackenize caught wind of what happened last night and I just wanna say I'm so sorry."
"I know, I heard you last night. But how did Mackenzie find out? I told Tony not to tell anyone. Never mind, I'll deal with that later. Right now, your face is beet red an you look exhausted. We need to get you cleaned up and into bed."
I took his hand and brought him upstairs and into the bathroom in our room. I put the toilet seat down and sat him on it. I went to grab a cloth and wet it with cold water. That would reduce the swelling. It looked like he had been hit so hard that it ripped skin on his cheek. I gave him the wet cloth and went to fetch the first aid kit from the main bathroom downstairs. On my way back up, I saw Tony in the kitchen.
"Morning Noah," he said cheerily as he ate his oatmeal. He then caught sight of the first aid in my hand and his eyes went wide. "Where are you taking that? Is everything ok?"
"Oh yes perfectly fine," I said sarcastically. "I need this since someone went against his word, telling Mackenzie of what happened which caused her to slap my boyfriend so hard that it broke skin on his cheek. But yes, everything is just hunky dory."
"I'm sorry."
"You promised you wouldn't say anything, how could you?"
"She was worried about you when I said you didn't want to come to the party. She dragged me back here and said if I didn't tell her what was up then she was going to beat the answer out of me. So I told her, it was general worry on your behalf."
"I was fine and I specifically to you not to say anything because I was going to deal with it. There's a gash across Logan's cheek surrounded by a bright red hand print because of how hard Mackenzie smacked him."
"Look I'm sorry ok? I'll never go against my word again."
"You sure as hell wont, or the next time I make spaghetti you won't be getting any," I threatened, a small smile now growing on my face. This was always a good way for me to get to either of the brothers and I found it quite hilarious.
