After supper was finished, everyone helped clean up and put all the tables and put them away in the massive garage. Everything was away and cleared in about half an hour. Sarah and I went inside with Emma to help with the dishes. That's another thing I realized tonight. Emma was te only female adult there and then there was Sarah, myself, Mackenzie and Gemma that made up the 5 girls at the party. I didn't want to be rude, so I didn't ask about it. Emma used questions to find out more about us. She also mentioned that Hunter and Logan have liked us since the minute they layed eyes in us, which in turn was longer for Sarah than for me because she'd been here when they first arrived. We also asked her some questions about her personal life. She told us that her and he hisband had met at around this time when they were in high school. She also said that Logan resembled his father a lot in terms of looks and that Hunter had the same attitude towards life as he did. I smiled and tried to put the 2 of then together so I could picture Logan's dad in my head.
"Noah!" Sarah shouted, pulling me back to reality.
"Huh? I'm sorry," I said.
"Don't worry about it. I often try to imagine the merge of the two boys and see my husband as well," Emma explained as if she could read my thoughts.
"Oh." Sarah excused herself to go to the washroom.
"So do you like my son?"
I looked up from where my hands were drying the last plate. I gave it to Sarah to put away and saw the intent look in Emma's eyes. I've known the guy for 3 days, how am I supposed to answer that? "I do." I said simply.
"But..." She trailed off.
I sighed sadly. "But I think if I got to know him better it would make more sense."
"What do you mean?"
"I've only even had one boyfriend and he cheated on me. Logan is different, but my first relationship started out like this, great. And then I moved and I hear that he was with another girl while I was living with my...father. I just don't want it to happen again."
"I understand. But I can assure you that as long as I have something to say, Logan will never ever hurt you like that. I like you and I can tell that you have a good head on your shoulders."
"Thank you, but I'm not really sure what you mean."
"Well the other girls he's been with only wanted the physical side of the relationship. So I've always said that if he found someone who knew she wanted more I would accept her as my own. It seems to me like you're that girl. He's never talked about someone so much in his life."
I honestly felt flattered to know that someone cared for me the way he did. "I promise, I'll stick around as long as I can," I said lightly, easing some of the tension in the room.
Her smile widened greatly and she walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. "As much as I'd love to say and talk more, we have a party to get back to," she smiled. "And now is when it gets fun."
"Oh?" I asked.
"Dancing."
I laughed and ran upstairs to get change back into my dress. There was no way I was dancing, especially in front of Jaxon, in just a bikini. Not that my backless dress was any better, but at least it covered my stomach and more of my legs than just a measly bathin suit. When I finished in the rokm, I folded the bathing suit and slippe it back into the drawer in the bathroom that Mackenzie had pulled it out of. I decided not to put on my seawater again because it would probably be hot out there with everyone dancing. On my way down the stairs, I met up with Sarah who was on her way up probably to get changed as well.
