Chapter 19: Lessons in New Skills

As we were just making out on the couch, I felt like someone was calling me. It sounded like Sarah but there was no way since she wasnt even in the room. And it wasnt a distant sound. It was like she was standing right there beside me.

I pushed on Logan slightly and he sat up immediately. "Princess, are you ok?"

"Someone's here," I said slightly scared.

"What do you mean?"

"I-I I don't know it's like..."

He climbed off of me and knelt down in the floor. I sat up and grabbed my head in my hands. "Babe, I need you to calm down and focus on me for a minute."

When I didn't look up, I felt his finger under my chin forcing me to look at him. I found myself getting lost in the colour of his eyes. They held such character and emotion that nothing could compare to them. I then thought about how I was his mate and that those amazing eyes belonged to me and me only. Somehow this calmed me down. I blinked twice and didn't hear the voice in my head anymore. He looked expectantly at me like he wanted me to explain but I couldn't seem to find the words to say what happened.

"Noah, are you ok?" he asked, concern dripping from every word.

"I think so, but someone was here. It sounded like Sarah but she's not even in the room. Logan, what just happened?" I asked in fear.

He chuckled slightly, I mean actually almost laughed. "It's ok babe, that's Hunter trying to show Sarah how to mindlink."

"But I thought I couldn't do that."

"The smallest trace of werewolf gives you the ability to mindlink. You could be 0.001% werewolf and you would still be able to do it. What you can't do is shift into an actual wolf."

"Oh. So wait, how do I answer her? Because it sounded like she was calling me for something."

"Ok, so you need to focus really hard. Think of what you want to say to her." I thought of a simple message to send back to her. I decided on 'what's up'.

"Ok I got it."

"Ok, so now you have to think of her face."

I thought hard about the distinct features on her face and now had a clear picture in my head. "Ok."

"Alright, so now is when you need to focus really hard. Think about both of them at the same time."

How the hell am I supposed to do that? I closed my eyes and thought of the words I had previously said in my head. Hearing them over and over, I started to get that picture of Sarah in my head. First her eyes, then came her nose and lips. Soon I had her face envisioned in my head. Her brown hair then started to flow around her face and then all of a sudden it was all gone. I opened my eyes and saw Logan's blue eyes and a wide smile stretched across his face.

"So?" he asked. "How did it feel?"

"I don't really know," I said, my eyebrows still furrowed in confusion. "One minute she was there and then it was all gone."

He chuckled. "It worked."

"What?"

"It went through."

"How do you know?"

"I've been talking to Hunter about it and he says she got it. Besides, that's what happens when your mindlink goes through. You have the clear image and when it goes through, it all disappears."

"Why does it do that?"

"I don't know, but it happens to the best of us."

"So how can I tell if she got it?"
