At about 12 midnight, Angel woke up and couldn't go to sleep again so she decided to keep herself busy. She looked under the pillow and saw a bible, she opened to Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear for I am with you: do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand"
When she read the scripture, she prayed and went out to sweep the house when it was 3:00am. After that she washed the utensils and dusted the windows, then she took her bath and started preparing breakfast. When Erasmus woke up, he was greeted by the aroma of fresh coffee. He walked briskly to the kitchen only to find Angel singing and preparing breakfast. He drew closer and was looking at her, she turned and saw him staring.
"Hey, you startled me... I'm sorry, but why are you up so early?... I don't know but I feel I'm used to it...maybe you were doing it before the accident... I suppose so. Erasmus can you tell me what I was doing on the day you run me over" He reminisced the day of the accident and gave her a vivid account of what happened.
"I was driving when all of a sudden I received a call, upon answering it, I saw you standing in the middle of the road as if you wanted to be knocked down. Before I could put the phone down and slam on the brakes, I crashed into you".
Angel saw pictures of herself standing in the middle of the road and waited for a car to knock her down
"Are you okay?...yes, I just remembered the accident. I think I wanted to end my life... do you remember what happened to make you take that decision?... no, I don't but I think I was tired of life. Anyway, breakfast is ready, tell me something, where do you work?... I work with a publishing company... so that means you will be leaving for work right...not today, I have the day off".
That night when Angel went to sleep, she had a dream about her past, she woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. She knocked on Erasmus' door and stood there for sometime before he opened the door. He was surprised to see her awake and looking nervous
"Come in, what's wrong?" She was panting, before she could open her mouth to speak, she fainted. Erasmus carried her bridal style, placed her on his bed and put a highly scented perfume closer to her nose, slowly she begun to react to the perfume then she opened her eyes.
"What is it? Hey are you okay?... I can remember everything now... come on, tell me, I'm all ears".
