Erasmus was literally going from bad to worse, since Rose left his house, It was as if she was the reason why he was prospering and doing so well in life and now because of his actions, he drove her away unwillingly. Rose checked up on him once in awhile since she still felt some sort of gratitude towards him for allowing God to use him help her for awhile but that was about it, he had exceeded his limits and she wouldn't compromise on that.
Kirk's sister came back and she was already eager to meet Rose but there was no way they could meet in church until midweek service and Margaret couldn't wait till then, so they decided to surprise her
"Hi Rose, are you home?"
"Hello...yes please, I'm home. What's up?"
"Can I come over? I have something to discuss with you. We could go to a restaurant so kindly dress up for that"
"Oo ok...yeah sure, I'll just go get ready"
"Perfect, thank you"
"Kirk are you sure she'll be okay with the surprise, I mean not all ladies are cool with that... she's different Maggie, you'll love her once you meet her...Mmm, does that mean you already love her?...Of course, the love of God is shed abroad in my heart...you know I'm not referring to that, I mean do you love her like a man loves a woman he would like to spend the rest of his life with?...I'm not doing this with you Maggie...come on Kirk, I have seen the way you talk about her and you're so eager for me to meet her and accept her just like you have. You know I'm aware you're trying to hide how you truly feel about her...can we go already? she must be waiting for us now...you know you can talk to me right?... I know but you won't get me to say anything I don't want to say now...fine_you'll spill soon".
They drove off to Rose's apartment and Kirk entered first while Margaret stood outside waiting for a signal from him. He bear hugged Rose and complimented her look
"So where are we going?"
"You'll find out soon"
"The last time you said that, we ended up in a foundling home and you made me tell you all my secrets, what do you have up your sleeves now?"
"Hahahah...Oh Rose_ I promise it's not out of town this time but I have something to show you outside first, you will have to close your eyes just for some few minutes"
"Okay...but you have to help me outside"
"Sure I will"
He led her gently outside and told her to open her eyes to a smiling Margaret. She hugged Rose like they had known each other for the longest time, Rose felt overwhelmed though she hugged her back. She looked at Kirk for an explanation since she didn't know who was standing in front of her.
"This is Margaret, my sister, she came back yesterday and couldn't wait to get to church to meet you so we decided; why not surprise her...you really did surprise me"
"It's so nice to finally meet you Margaret...I'm more honoured to meet the famous Rose, I've heard so much about you...oh really...yeah, I just had to see you before we go to church. Kirk, you weren't wrong at all...he wasn't wrong about what?...siblings code...oh I see, please come inside and let me get you something to drink...oh no Rose, Kirk and I are taking you out...oo ok, we can go now. I'll just inform Jane"
She went to Jane's room to inform her and she was teasing Rose about her finally meeting her sister-in-law. They got to the restaurant, ordered some snacks and ate while they chatted about Kirk's family, Rose's life and other random topics. Then Margaret just had to ask a question that would make her brother talk about his love life.
"So Rose, do you have a boyfriend?...no please, none for now...okay but is there someone you're considering?...ermm I'm not really thinking about that now, I want to get some things behind me and have some accomplishments before going there...okay, that's also cool but you don't have to look far when you're finally ready..." Kirk just kept quiet listening to them, in a way, he was also trying to find out if Rose had someone else in mind. He had watched Rose make massive progress in the things of God and he had always wanted to find "the one" in his church, not having to search elsewhere. He just didn't want to rush things but relish every moment he had the opportunity to spend with her. After everything they took Rose back to her place and the ladies promised to hang out again
"Kirk are you okay? you seem too quiet for my liking... yeah Maggie, I'm okay. I'm glad you ladies hit it off immediately...yeah, Rose and I would be such great friends...I can see that. Rose, thanks for coming with us and for tolerating my sister, her questions can be annoying sometimes...hey I'm right here"
"Thanks Kirk for making me tag along...you're always welcome... drive safely and please tell me when you get home...sure, I will" he noticed that his sister kept looking from him to Rose while they were talking and asked her when they sat in the car
"Maggie spill...spill what?...what do you want to say because I know you, you've been mute for too long...you really know me, I didn't want to say anything but I guess I can't hold it in...I knew it...Kirk you love her, don't you?...there you go again...Come on Kirk, the way your eyes light up when you're speaking to her or about her isn't the brotherly kind of love...when did my sister grow up so much, you're now giving me advice on love...well you better stop seeing me like the little girl who used to run around the house only in pants...hahaha_I love you Sis...I love you too but remember what I said and think about it...just to make you stop talking, I'll give it a thought... at least that's something, not forgetting you deliberately evaded my question. We'll revisit it...".
