The next day Rose woke up earlier than usual because she wanted to create a good first impression with her boss. She did some chores and prepared breakfast then went in to get ready for work, not knowing whether uniforms would be provided, she dressed formally. When she entered the dining area, Erasmus couldn't take his eyes off her
"Wow_you look beautiful...thank you" she replied shyly. Since they were heading to the same place, Erasmus drove her there.
She started working happily after changing into scraps from the company, singing while cleaning and those she came in contact with, liked her already. During lunch break, she found her way to the cafeteria and bought some food. While eating, a gentleman came to sit on the empty chair in front of her "Hi, can I join you here?... sure, you're already seated...thank you. I've not seen you around before... I started work today... oo ok, that's nice, then I'm blessed to have been one of the people to meet you on your first day at work" the gentleman indicated smiling broadly at Rose, she wondered what made him have a constant smile that touched his eyes, it was genuine, not just him trying to fake a smile to please her_but she brushed it off.
"Do you mind telling me your name?... Rose...wonderful, I'm Kirk and I work here...you obviously do...hahaha yeah, nice meeting you...same here... I hope we can be good friends...yeah sure... alright, see you around".
The break was over, Rose went back to her assigned duty, she finished early and went to her superior to ask if there was anything else for her to do, he told her "no" and that she could go home. She hadn't heard from Erasmus, so she found her way to his office, when she got there, he was rounding up everything for the day.
"I didn't see you during lunch break...I had to finish some work and when I realized, time was far spent, I decided to pass by a restaurant after work. What about you? Were you able to get something to eat?...yes please and I met someone_he actually joined me on my table...Oh ok, who was that?... he said he's erhm Kirk yeah Kirk... I see, he's a weirdo...what makes you say that?...he says some unrealistic stuff, like he lives in another world..we just met, let me find out for myself, what's with that look?...nothing, I have nothing to say" they both laughed at his expression and headed towards the car park. Erasmus took Rose to a fancy restaurant and he had already called to make reservations for a secluded area. The place was breathtakingly beautiful, he held out a chair for her and went ahead to sit opposite her, as they placed their orders.
"Angel, I want to ask you a question...okay, go ahead...are you seeing anyone?...No, why do you ask?...just curious,I'm aware but wanted to be sure... Okay, how's Clara?...we broke up after an argument and I've realized we're not meant for each other".
They finished up and headed home, they both retired to their rooms and thought about the events of the day. Erasmus felt threatened by Kirk's interest in Rose. Kirk though not the ladies man, gets the attention of the female staff at the company. He had this cool and calm nature and no doubt very good looking as well but he appeared weird to most of them.
