Whoever broke into the house had destroyed and scattered everything in the house, broke their doors that were under lock and key but amazingly left the doors to their rooms untouched and they seemed to have left a note for them
"Rose, come see this" Kirk called her to where he was standing, the person wrote "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME YET"
"We need to leave this place now, whoever did this, didn't intend to harm you but just to warn you...how are you so sure?...they would have done worse or even come when they know you would be around...that's also true, but where will we sleep tonight?... don't worry about that, pack some of your things, what you would need for about a week and let's go to my place... Oh no, I've bothered you enough, let me figure something out... please Rose let him help us, besides do you have anywhere else to go?..." Jane chipped in. Margaret helped them pack some few stuffs and they went to their house.
Kirk had a 3 bedroom apartment, but the last one was almost like a store room because his parents use that place anytime they visited but they hadn't been there in a while
"We weren't really expecting to have guests but you both could sleep in my room, I'll clean this place up for you tomorrow...that's fine, we're sorry for invading your space...oh no, I'm happy that you're here, It will be like a sleep over, let's see the good side of this, thank God you're not harmed in any way...thank you Margaret...you can call me Maggie, we're like sisters now...okay Maggie, thank you" Kirk came in after packing their bags inside and locking the car
"I'll put these in Maggie's room, then we'll prepare the other one for you tomorrow...yes please, she already told us...okay" they all went to Margaret's room while Kirk went to his. After they were settled in, they took turns to shower and to brighten up the mood, Jane suggested they watch a movie.
"Good idea Jane...I have tons of movies on my laptop...great, do you by any chance have some snacks...hahaha, just chips, not really a movie snack but we can do with that...yes we can" They got everything set and realised Rose wasn't really physically present there with them so Margaret enquired of her "Rose, come back to planet earth, where did you travel to?...I don't really feel like watching a movie...Are you okay?...oh yeah...you know that's not true, please don't think about what happened at least for now, everything will be fine okay...sure_ can I sit in your parlour?...oh yes you can...thank you, I'll see you girls later" she went to the kitchen to get some water and proceeded to sit on the couch, praying in her heart with her eyes shut.
"Oh God, I know with you by my side, everything is well, but I can't help thinking about the events of the past few hours. You're my ever present help in time of need, please help me pull through this". Kirk walked in, upon seeing her eyes closed, he thought she must have dozed off on the couch and sat beside her. She felt someone was beside her and opened her eyes
"You're awake... I wasn't asleep, just praying in my heart...Oh ok...I thought you slept off, I was about to wake you up. Are you comfortable here?...yes please I'm comfortable, the ladies are watching a movie, I didn't really feel like watching so I decided to come out...Okay, you want to talk?...yeah but not about what happened, I want to forget it for at least few hours...sure, I understand...okay, enough about me, let's talk about you...what about me do you want to talk about?...erhmmm let's see, ahaaa, I've been wanting to ask you this but didn't really know how to put it...I'm all ears...have you ever been in a relationship before?...yeah I have...really...surprised?...yeah, I mean you don't look like someone who would be in a relationship...how do I look like?...hahaha_okay I didn't put it well, I mean you don't seem like the romantic type, if you get what I mean...yeah, that was when I was in the university, I was trying to prove that I was mature and did some stuff I'm not exactly proud of. Aunty Grace and some other heads at the orphanage had to sit me down and speak some sense into me when I didn't want to listen to my parents...Oh I see, interesting, so did you break up with the lady or she broke up with you?...I did, I told her I couldn't continue living that life and we went our separate ways, I learnt she's married now with kids but I'm glad I made that decision. Now when I get into a relationship again, it will be to fulfill God's will and purpose, there will be no playing around and it must lead to marriage...wow that's good, I thank God for turning your life around...yeah and what about you?...well I've never been in any relationship before...Oh ok, it's good to be patient and not rush into anything with someone and regret later...exactly_so I'm not in a hurry at all...good, jeez it's past midnight...I didn't notice the time...yeah me too and we have a long day ahead, we need to fix your apartment...yeah, I'll just go in now, I'm sure the ladies must be asleep...yeah, goodnight and sound sleep...thank you, goodnight too" she was going to the room she was sharing with the ladies and stopped suddenly
"And Kirk...yes...thank you very much for everything...you're always welcome my dear" she smiled all the way to bed, said a word of prayer and drifted of to sleep.
