"Where are you going?... I've brought you enough troubles already, because of me, your girlfriend just walked out on you. Thank you for what you've done for me during this short period of time, I will forever be grateful"
All this while Erasmus was looking at her in disbelief. He knew in his heart that he didn't want her to go for reasons he couldn't explain.
"Angel please sit down" he still addressed her as Angel. She sat down and he sat beside her "Where are you going from here?... I don't know yet but I have to leave... Angel, I brought you to this house to take care of you and besides what if something else happens to you. Please think about this carefully, I will not force you to stay but bear in mind that this house will not be the same without you".
He left her and went to his room, he prayed that God should not let her leave. At sunset, Rose was still in the house, she wondered if Erasmus had eaten anything. She entered the kitchen and prepared his favourite meal. She knocked on his door but there was no response, she knocked again and still no response. Then she opened the door and peeped in, he wasn't there and she was a bit worried. She went outside and checked all the corners of the house, he wasn't there either. She went to the parlour and started praying "Lord, please keep him safe wherever he is and bring him back, unharmed" she drifted off to sleep in the couch while waiting for him.
Erasmus came back very late, when he saw her sleeping on the couch, he carried her and sent her to her room. The following day, he woke up earlier than usual with the intention of leaving for work before Angel woke up. He did everything in a haste and slipped a note beneath her door before leaving. Immediately he left, she woke up and went to freshen up, when she was through with that, she was going to open the door when the piece of paper caught her attention. She took it and sat on her bed to read;
"Angel,
I'm sorry about what happened yesterday, please don't think Clara and I broke up because of you. We were having problems already and bound to break up at some point. I hope you rethink your decision of leaving, you might get hurt out there on your own. Once again, I'm sorry.
Erasmus".
After reading the letter, she decided against her idea of leaving. She prepared breakfast and after consuming it went for a walk. Since she started living with Erasmus, she had not been outside the gate, she wanted to take a stroll around. On her way, she spotted an uncompleted building and was walking past it when a drunkard started walking towards her. When she noticed what was happening she run as fast as her legs could carry her until she got to the end of the building and thought she had lost him when he came with full speed and caught her by the arm.
