"Why is it taking you guys so long to execute a simple plan?... Madam, no be like that, the work wey you give us, we no go fit do am oo, ehard pass, that woman wey you wan make we scare nu, she get some power for einbody oo, echeck like somebody dey protect am...oh come of it, I want the work done tonight, this is your last chance or else I won't pay you... eeeiii madam make you no talk that kind tin for wanna ears inside, we go there go scare am like 2 times already wey she no dey home, that one no be wanna fault, you for top up the money make we go finish the job for you sharp sharp...no job done, no money..." the private detective came clapping from behind them, with 2 police men with him.
They had been keeping a close eye on Pearl since Kirk told them of his suspicions and they followed her this morning when she got out of the house quite early. She finally made a stop in the middle of nowhere after a long ride and walked the rest of the way through the bushes to the uncompleted building, situated in the outskirts of town.
"Hands up and weapons down, Miss Pearl, you're being arrested for master minding the attempted attack on Miss Rose's life and the attack on Kirk's life as well. Officers take her away...do you know who I am? I will make sure you pay for this humiliation...it would be in your best interest to keep quiet because whatever you say or do could be used against you" they handcuffed her and the 2 men she hired for the job.
"Officer, no be we do am oo, this madam wey tell us say make we scare that woman, wey she no fit dey pay us sef...my friend will you shut up, you can explain when you get to the station"
They were sent to the police station and the private detective gave Kirk a call. He told the ladies about it and Rose opted to go with him
"They have the culprit now, I'm going to the station...please I would like to go with you...are you sure you can handle it?...yes please...okay, let me get the keys".
When they got there, Kirk asked to see who it was and to his amazement it was none other than Pearl, her head was bent over when he went to see her
"Sis.Pearl, how are you?...Bro.Kirk_I'm really sorry, the guys made a mistake by attacking you, they were just meant to give Rose a scare...why would you stoop so low? Even if I wasn't the target, what would make you harbour hatred in your heart for a fellow sister?...she was getting all the attention from you and other members, an attention I've worked so hard to get and she just gets it on a silver platter, without sweat...you don't need to work to get attention from people, we all love you...but you love her more...you need to rid yourself of any form of envy and be content with what you have. Now you will make them give you less attention because of what you did...would you press charges?...that is not for me to decide but her..." he beckoned Rose to come closer and she was now face to face with Pearl.
"What are you doing here?...I thought you would be remorseful_Sis.Pearl what did I ever do to you for you to order thugs to attack me?...you don't need to know, are you pressing charges or not?...I would pay evil with good, I won't press charges but I hope you have a change of heart and we could even be good friends. I love you in spite of this and I'm sure everyone else loves you"
Kirk paid for her bail and she was released immediately but the thugs she hired for the dirty job were still confined to prison because of other crimes they were found to have committed. Kirk offered to give Pearl a ride home but she refused simply because Rose was also with him, so they left her and were on their way home.
"Hey you've been quiet since we left the police station, is everything okay?... ..._Rose...yes, did you say something?...I was asking if you're okay...yes please...would you like to go home immediately?... to be honest with you, I don't want to go home now...okay, let's go to the mall and just look around...okay sure" they went to the mall close to them and just looked around, they decided to eat there before going home.
"So Rose when are you looking forward to getting married? Don't take this the wrong way okay, I'm just curious...well I'm not really in a hurry but if the Holy Spirit tells me it's anytime soon, I wouldn't hesitate to heed his instruction...that's good to know, the Holy Spirit can change the plans we make for ourselves right...yeah he can...what matters is that we simply follow...yes you're right...what about if I asked you out, would it come as a surprise to you?...as in on a date?...yes...well I would be surprised for starters but wait, why are you asking all these questions?...all in due time my dear, all in due time" he was smiling and she was wondering what he had in mind and what he meant by she knowing it in due time.
They went home and Rose briefed Margaret and Jane about what happened at the station, they were so pissed off with Pearl but Rose told them to treat her with love and kindness no matter what. Later that night, Kirk went to speak to his sister
"Hey Sis...yes, how is my favourite brother doing?...as if you have another brother somewhere...hahaha you may never know...I'm great and you?...I'm good, so what brings you here?...I came to discuss something with you...okay what is it?...what do you think about Rose and I being together?...wait, are you serious about this?...very serious...yippee_I'm so happy for you...really...of course, wasn't I the one pushing you to make your intentions known to her...well yeah but I just wasn't sure if she felt the same way...so what changed?...I asked her some questions and the Holy Spirit has given me the go ahead...alright, that's great so have you told her?...no, I plan on asking her to marry me at the Love Fest...wow, my brother's the man...hahaha...I already liked her when we first met and wanted you two to get married but it was up to you both to decide...thanks for your support... you're welcome...alright, I would leave you to rest and please don't tell Rose or Jane anything, I want it to come as a surprise...my lips are sealed...I know you, you're not a blabbermouth but you can spill the beans out of excitement...come on give me some credit here...haha I'm sorry...have a goodnight, I love you... you too and I love you too".
