When they arrived, Kirk offered Erasmus an explanation for keeping her at the office for so long and left. Erasmus wasn't so enthused about their spending time together. Rose told him about their plan to go to church on sunday and asked if he would like to come along but he said he would be resting from a tiring week. Rose didn't probe further since she was now finding her footing in Christ.
The week ended so fast and it was Saturday already, Rose cleaned the house and went grocery shopping. She picked up a few stuffs she would need during the week and went to the counter to pay.
"How much please?...350 ma'am...okay, here" Kirk stopped her before she could pay
"Add it to my bill please...okay Sir, it would be 750...thank you...thanks for shopping here, we look forward to seeing you again... you're welcome".
Rose was standing there watching what was going on, she didn't really expect such generosity from someone who barely knew her, meanwhile Kirk had been calling her
"...Rose_Rose...yes yes, sorry, I didn't hear you. Thanks so much for paying for my bill...my pleasure, I hope you're still coming with me tomorrow for service?...yes please, hopefully...okay, I'll pick you up. See you tomorrow and say hello to Erasmus for me, bye...okay, bye".

Rose was ready and waiting for Kirk in the parlour when she heard the doorbell ring and went to get it expecting to see Kirk but it was Clara. She pushed her way in and started calling Erasmus, he came out and was surprised to see who it was. Shortly afterwards, the doorbell rung again and Rose went to get it. Kirk asked if she was ready, she responded in the affirmative and they left.
On their way, the car was silent for a while until Kirk spoke "I don't mean to pry but who was that lady in there?...she was the girlfriend of Erasmus...oh I see, she looked familiar...oh ok...I can help you look for an apartment to rent if you are okay with it...that would be nice, thank you...okay, we're here...wow, this place is beautiful... yeah, it is".
They went inside and a man dressed in a navy blue suit ushered them in and made them sit in front, considering they were early. The service was orderly, from the praise and worship to the message which was on "Life in Christ". Rose could relate with the message, it was as if the preacher knew her story. After service, one of the leaders' was speaking to first timers. She was given books and CDs on messages from the Pastor to help her grow in Christ. She was amazed by the way they handled everything as if their life depended on it and their genuine care towards each other was something else. She could literally feel the love of God emanating from everyone. In her heart, she knew she didn't want to stop coming to this place. The peace alone she felt was enough for her to stay.
She could see Kirk talking to a group of people and approached her when he was done
"Hey, how was the service?...refreshing, I'm at peace now, it's as if I have no problems at all. Thank you for bringing me here, I'm really grateful...that's the plan and as you keep coming, the word of God would continue to mould you, prune you and take away the weeds in your life, I mean the unwanted stuff...wow, I have a lot to learn then...yes you do but, one day at a time. First, get the fundamentals right and do well to study the materials given you...sure I will, thank you...my fellowship members and I are going to a nearby eatery to have lunch, would you like to come with us?... that would be nice but will they be okay with it, considering the fact that I'm new here...totally, they can't wait to be introduced to you...oh ok, then let's get going".
