After church, Kirk managed to dodge Pearl, spoke to Jane about Rose's challenge and asked if she could lodge with her for sometime till she got her own place
"I live alone, though the place is not that big, I wouldn't mind having a roomie...aww thank you so much Sis.Jane, thank you. The thing is I can't go back to where I lived before so can I come to your place today?...oh yeah sure, that's fine by me...you're a life saver, thank you...you're welcome dear".
"Thank you Sis.Jane, for doing this and please don't hesitate to let me know if you both need anything at your place...it's okay Bro. Kirk, we'll be fine...okay. Since her stuff are in my car, I would take both of you home...alright"
They drove to Jane's house and packed Rose's things, considering her stay was going to be temporal, she didn't offload everything, just the necessary items.
"I would be taking my leave now_ Sis.Jane, can I speak to you for a few minutes?...yeah let's go to the balcony... okay, so I know this was very impromptu but I really appreciate that you're helping Rose out, and please feel free to let me know if you need money for basic amenities, I know the cost would increase because you're 2 now and I'll definitely chip in with the rent...Oh Bro.Kirk, I do it out of love and I know Sis.Rose is a good person, she just has to be in the right place and with the right people...you're right, precisely why I didn't talk to Sis.Pearl about this even though I'm aware she has a bigger place. I realized she does not really like Rose and she might not be a good influence on her considering Rose is still growing in Christ...Bro.Kirk, are you trying to be ignorant about it or you've just not noticed...noticed what?...that Pearl likes you, very much actually, she spoke to me about it...are you being serious right now?...yes, I'm surprised you aren't aware, because everyone has seen it and Rose seems like a threat to her...I can't believe this🤦♀️, she acts all clingy when she's around me but I didn't think anything of it...well now you know...yeah_anyway, I have to leave now".
They went inside and Rose went out with Kirk to his car
"Thank you Kirk_ I don't know how else to thank you, I'm really grateful... it's my pleasure, I want you to feel at home here okay and Sis.Jane can be like the sister you've always wanted to have. I know you would want your own place but for now be content and happy with what you have okay...yes please, I'm happy. Thank you...you're welcome, I'll take my leave now...okay, please let me know when you're home...sure I will, bye...bye"
Rose went inside the room and saw Jane packing her stuff
"Sis.Jane please you've done enough already, I'll take it from here...oh come on, it's not a big deal and please you can call me Jane, now you're like my sister, this house is gonna be more fun with you here...you're such a nice person, thank you so much...you're welcome. What would you like to have for dinner?...anything you have but I'll help with preparing it...no problem, so let's finish packing then we can start preparing dinner".
Kirk got home and texted Rose that he was home
"Hi, please I'm home"
"Hello Kirk😊, okay...good to know. Sis.Jane is really a nice person, she's doing all she can to make me feel at home".
"I'm glad to know that, don't worry, you'll soon get your own place"
"Yes I will"
"I wanted to discuss something with you..."
"Okay, go ahead please"
"About your job at the firm, don't you think you qualify for something better. I mean by natural standards you are done with school and all so you could apply for a better position"
"I actually settled for the cleaning job after searching for a job without finding one. I just decided I would start from there so as to be independent"
"Oo ok but now you have the grace of God plus your human qualifications so I'll talk to the MD about you so we could get you something better"
"You would do that for me😳?"
"Yes, why not..."
"This means a lot to me, thank you"
"Oh come on, it's fine...you've thanked me enough, I'm sure the word is exhausted😂😂😂".
"If there was a better word, trust me, I would exhaust that as well😀. I just want you to know that I appreciate all you're doing for me. Thank you for allowing God use you to bless me"
"You're learning fast😁...all the glory to God, I'm glad I can be of help😊. Have you had anything to eat yet?"
"Yes please, we cooked together"
"Great, it's good you're settling in. I will pick you up tomorrow for work, it's kind of a different route from Jane's place, so that you won't be found wanting"
"Oh ok...thank you. I'll see you tomorrow then"
"Have a goodnight and sound sleep"
"You too"
They prayed together and retired to bed early because both of them had to wake up early for work. Jane worked with an advertising agency. Her house had one bedroom enough to accommodate them both with the washroom in it, a parlour, a kitchen and a balcony.

Erasmus, on the other hand, regretted what he did, it dawned on him when he went to Rose's room after he had a run and realized she had left, her things weren't there anymore. He tried calling her but the number wasn't going through, it was as if the whole universe was against him talking to her. He hoped to see her at work so he could apologise for his thoughtless actions.
