A Love Poem
©2021, Olan L. Smith
Adorable, it's a love poem from Olan:
Love loss and lustful poems in the hands of dearth,
Over pledges of forgiveness of roses flung with words;
Vulgarities spout, and spittle dribbles from arguments
Everywhere on the ground, floor, sheets, and dinner.
Pledge your trough here! Upon this altered altar of adoration,
Once a scene of beauty, of white gowns, flowers, and promises.
Even the angels fight, write for forgiveness in a love poem,
Matches in heaven last the siege of battles sung, and verses writ.
