Acrostic: Woman in Purple, Reveal the Dim Face
©2018, Olan L. Smith
Who walks the world where only the bravest souls tread?
Omnipotence is only a dream for mortals who undulate in
Maddened masses of murderous worms, piled
Atop each other in darkened loam made of fresh fecal matter
'Neath the foot of men. Dream mortal of life beyond madness,
In the hot coals of the hearth evil is present, yet, the fire
Never fails to heat the shelter. Two ideas are one, evil brings light,
Perhaps, it is because evil defines goodness. Evil dwells in dark spaces,
Under damp rocks where insects hid from daylight. All must walk the
Recesses where none dare go. All must release the fire within to
Prepare the way for the light of man. Harken all! Evil is in everyone.
Leave no hidden crevice unexplored or unlit.
Evening comes for all humans. Reveal the dim face within.
