Majority of romantic stories ended with two people confessing at each other. It sounds like a happy ending, right?
"Dokyeom! Where are you?!"
I rushed into the laboratory building. It was dark inside and all I can see are some equipments around blue tabs which look very creepy. But I didn't have time to observe more.
"Dokyeom?!" I shouted again while I load bullets on my Glock 19 gun. Unfortunately, there's only 4 bullets left.
My hands are trembling, not because I'm scared to lose this fight, but because of this thought that all of my squad had been taken out.
Where is everybody?
"Dokyeom! Just f*cking answer me!"
Dealing my frustration, I came across with someone who has such speed to point his gun and shoot me right away. I dodged with full defense but felt a sharp, burning pain shot down my stomach. I knew he had grazed me.
"Sh*t." Pressing my injured tummy, I rolled like a ball onto the dusty floor to hide behind a metal desk. When my sixth sense guessed my enemy's location at, I once dove onto the ground, twisting my right shoulder and shoot him on his head.
'Bam!'
He's down without a single shout.
Now that I'm all alone, I felt the fatigue all over my body. The real enemy is still alive while I'm here hiding and hoping that I'm not the only one left.
"(Y/n)!"
Finally, I heard the voice I was longing.
Dokyeom's face showed in front of me and based on his wounds, I knew that he also fought hard back there.
"Oh sh*t! Are you okay?!" He came to me with a worried look and he held me as if I'm a frail vase.
"This is nothing. Where are the others?" I groaned.
As his answer, his eyes went down on my knees. He bit his lower lip and gosh, my heart just sunk at his sullen expression.
'No way. We were all happy yesterday at our dinner party. There's no way they are...'
"Dead. They are dead."
As much as I don't want to believe his words, I also wish I could do something to change my mistake.
"N-No. No way," I breathed.
It was all because of me. If I didn't suggest to investigate about the secret laboratory of Ben Crawfed, they won't die.
"Now, we don't have enough time, captain. We should escape," Dokyeom suggested in throaty voice. Like me, he really wanted to cry but he's holding it well.
It's true. We should escape if we wanted to live. But can I really abandon my people? Do I have the rights to run when I was the reason of their deaths?
"Who gave you the permission to leave?" A gentle voice meddled. In the dark where blue lights filled the space, Ben's face glowed. He has an equipment which either look like a gun? A bomb? Or an arrow. "You went inside my laboratory and destroyed everything. And you said you'll leave? Who's crazy bastard will allow that to happen?"
Crazy? He's the crazy one! An alchemist who experiments innocent people for his research!
Unable to make a single move, Dokyeom and I stared at him. If only Ben's a fool, we can think of a way to divert him and escape. But no. He's a genius.
