"Have you ever heard of the cheater's serial killer?" is the first question I've heard inside the interrogation room.

I tried my best to become one of the most upright citizen of our country, except the fact that I had plan of seducing four men together. Well, it is only with the reason of saving their lives so it shouldn't be listed as a crime. However, the most shocking event is that the person who brought me at the police station is the last man I have to approach, Chwe Vernon.

"I haven't heard of that," I answered with a gulp. My eyes met his hazelnut eyes. He appeared to be a Greek god under the dim light with his pale skin, pointed nose and well proportioned sharp features. But this isn't the time to admire the beauty of this book's male lead.

Vernon slid an already opened folder on the table forward to my direction. There in the folder are papers and pictures of people I couldn't recognize.

"At the mall, you are the woman who was chased by a man with a knife on his hand. We received the report and surprisingly, the suspect behind that is actually the one I've been looking for a long time." He placed his hands on the table as he stood up and appeared big in front of me.

There is one thing out of million questions I'm confused at right now. In the book, Vernon wasn't introduce as a detective. He's just a random guy who followed Jasmine, fell in love with her and soon met his demise. I found it weird actually but I didn't think he'll play a big role as this.

'Then why did he approach Jasmine?'

"In the CCTV," he continued. When he leaned a little closer, I could smell his scent —it's a smell of someone who didn't wash for a week. What the hell! "The man who was tailing you has this watch. It was the watch that..." He stopped when he saw me covering my nose. "What's wrong with you?"

I know that as a detective, he is too busy to even go home. But it's a complete turn off for me who always goes with the personal hygiene before looks.

"Ohh, I prevented myself from sneezing," I lied. I scratched my nose, put my hand down and stopped breathing. "Where are we again?" I spoke without exhaling.

"Miss (Y/n)."

"YEP?"

"You are..."

"Ahuh?"

Vernon tilted his head and looked at me in close distance. 'Oh my freaking goodness! It's already hard to breathe! Why do you have to lean this much?! Go away!'

"You are the first woman this serial killer tried to kill."

"Huh?"

He went back to his seat. Finally, I could breathe. 'Phew.'

But wait a minute. He said that I am the first woman who almost died in the hands of a psycho. 'Why? Why would he kill me?'

I lifted my right hand and started biting my nail. Looking at the blank space, I heard Vernon's response.

"As what I have said, he killed only men who have records of cheating in their relationships. But miss (Y/n) is a woman. So, may I ask if you ever had fight with someone? Or if you could think of a person who has grudge on you?"

"Mr. Detective, I am a really kind person." Beside the reality that I am seducing three guys. Nevertheless, I swore to the heaven that I always act righteous to everyone. So why?

'What if... As an extra of the story, my role is to die in the process so the story will justify its thriller genre?'

"I won't let that happen!" I shouted, standing up. "Even if my role is to die, I won't accept it that easily!" I banged the desk which causes his hardened expression.
