"So when I confessed my feelings to him, you'll play his favorite song," I said to the event's Emcee.

Today, we have our company's night party to celebrate my achievement for succeeding a deal with a high brand company. And since I'm the star of tonight, I decided to use this a chance to confess to my long time crush, Joshua.

It is a bold decision, indeed. And I am ready to take the risk.

I promised to myself that if ever a time comes when I achieved something big, then I am going to move a step forward to the person I adore — to that guy who gave me courage. And so with the help of the event planner and the emcee, I laid the preparation.

However, I accidentally made a mistake in the process.

"You'll confess your feelings to whom?" Mingyu, my co-worker, asked as he stepped closer.

The emcee I was talking to has left already before Mingyu's arrival, thus made the two of us alone in the empty way.

Mingyu is a close friend of Joshua. And even if he's competent at work, his rudeness always makes me hate him.

"Did you hear everything I've said?" I worried.

His brows raised, then elevated his shoulder for sharp breath. "I did. From your cheesy confession lines and to the reminding of playing Joshua's favorite song at the end."

I held my breath for a moment. Pretending to be at ease, I spoke with confidence. "So w-what? Is it wrong to convey my feelings? This isn't the first time someone from our company has confessed. Besides, I'm ready to face the consequences."

Minyyu's face crumpled even more. "You mean, you'll be okay even after he dumped you in front of our colleague?"

I won't be okay. But I don't want to go and get promoted in the other branch without confessing. If ever I'll get dump, I'll be transfer anyway.

"Just to warn you, Joshua doesn't like it when women confess first," he commented that sounds like a warning. Then he walked away with hands inside his pockets.

I didn't believe him at first. However...

"Hey, what will you feel if a woman suddenly confess at you?"

Joshua looked at the guy who asked him this question.  I was standing from a good distance so I could hear their conversation.

"A woman?" Joshua repeated. He rubbed his chin and answered in slow pace, "I don't know. But I cannot picture myself accepting such confession from a woman. I would rather prefer if I'll make the first move."

I dropped my fork as well as my heart. That's when I realized that my plan will definitely fail. It's too late to back out though.

"Okay, so let's call our star for tonight in the stage! Miss (Y/n)!" The emcee called me.

It is the time for me to give my speech. And when I hopped in the stage, I trembled so much. It wasn't because I have stage fright or I didn't prepare my speech enough. Unfortunately, it is due to my plan that will unfold soon with the help of the staffs.

"A-Again, t-thank you everyone," I bid my farewell and was about to leave the stage. But...

"Wait a minute!" The emcee held my wrist and brought me back at the center. He sent me a signal, gesturing about our original plan.

So I leaned closer to him and whispered, "let's skip it."

However, the emcee thought that my 'skip' word means we should rush the things. So he made some adjustment which wasn't in favor of me.

"Ohhh, miss (Y/n) suddenly got shy so I think I need to help her."

'What!?' I eyed him with hanged loose mouth.

"Actually, miss (Y/n) wanted to use this opportunity to confess at the person she really likes."

"Waaaaa~" huge gasps resonated in air. Right at that moment, my eyes landed on Joshua's place. He is watching with a smile.

'This is really bad. This isn't good! I should stop this!'

"She said it is the special guy who helped her achieved what she has right now. Do you want to know who it is?!"

"Yes!" Everyone shouted, including Joshua.

No way! Joshua doesn't like it if I confess first! What should I do?! What will I do!?

"It is actually..."

Before the emcee could announce his name, my eyes landed to the person sitting next to Joshua. Then, I grabbed the mic and shouted, "Mingyu! I like KIM MINGYU!"

A moment of silent settled. The lights turned off and a spotlight lightened at Joshua.

Reeled at the light, Joshua chuckled and stood up. "You got the wrong guy," he laughed. He pulled Mingyu and let him sit on his old place.

Another spotlight went on me and that's when Joshua's favorite song played in the background.

When I met Mingyu's surprised eyes, I knew that everything was ruined.

"I l-like you, M-Mingyu," I said before tears fell from my eyes.

"Waaaaaaaahhhhh!" Loud cheers roared.

Amidst of the noise, sad prayers were chanted in my head. Mingyu will definitely dump me, especially when he knows that this confession isn't really for him. He must be so furious that I used him to...

"I like you too, miss (Y/n)," Mingyu suddenly answered with a smirk.
