Chapter 21

Douma turned at a corner and the two of you ran into Tanjiro. "Tanjiro-kun!" You exclaimed. "Ah! (Y/N)-san, Douma-san! Are you all right?!" Tanjiro replied with a worried yet relieved look.

"I have a broken rib again but I'm fine. What are you doing, Tanjiro-kun?" you asked as you watched Tanjiro look around. "I'm looking for Teruko and Kiyoshi. Teruko is the little girl from earlier and Kiyoshi is her big brother that was taken away by the demon because he is a marechi!" Tanjiro informed.

"Eh?" You and Douma asked. "Caw! What is 'marechi'? It refers to the owner of rare blood! You were supposed to know this, you fool! Caw!" your crow yelled as it showed itself on Tanjiro's shoulder.

An irk mark appeared on your head at the crow's insult. "I swear, I'm gonna cook you after this and feed you to others!" you replied angrily.

"By 'rare blood'. What does that mean?" Douma asked. "A single marechi human has the same nutritional value as eating fifty to a hundred humans. All in all, it is a demon's favorite." Tanjiro explained. "So Kiyoshi is a marechi. That's why the demon took him." you said, making Tanjiro nod.

"The demon was a former Twelve Kizuki. I managed to defeat him and extracted his blood. Right now, I'm looking for Kiyoshi and Teruko to make sure they're all right. They're not far from where we are." Tanjiro said. "Then let's find them." you exclaimed as you placed yourself to the ground.

"There are demons lurking around here when Douma-kun and I were trying to find you and the others." you exclaimed as you and Douma followed Tanjiro to where the two kids are.

"They're here!" Tanjiro exclaimed as he stopped at a door. You motioned for Douma to get inside the box and he did as so.

"Kiyoshi! Teruko!" Tanjiro yelled as he opened the door with you besides him. You watched as Tanjiro avoided a thrown book and pot but got hit straight in the head by another book. "Tanjiro-san...." the boy said. "And (Y/N)-san." The little girl added when she noticed you.

"Hello! I'm glad to see you guys are all right!" You said and waved at the two kids. "Why are you two throwing stuff at me!" Tanjiro exclaimed as he held his forehead in pain while you were trying to calm him down. "We're so sorry! The tsuzumi vanished, so we panicked." Kiyoshi explained. "It's fine, it's fine. No one got hurt anyway." you said while Teruko began to cry.

You went towards her and patted her head, trying to comfort her. "You two did a good job hanging in there. You too Kiyoshi." You exclaimed as you patted Kiyoshi's head. 'They remind me so much of Kai and Akira.' you thought sadly.

"Come on, let's head outside." Tanjiro exclaimed.

Tanjiro carried Kiyoshi on his back while Teruko held your hand as all of you walked down the hallways. "I'm picking up Zenitsu and Shoichi's scent. They must be outside. Both of them safe--" Tanjiro stopped. "Something wrong, Tanjiro-kun?" you asked while Tanjiro gave you the look. 'No.... Tanjiro gives that look whenever he smells blood. That means...' you thought.

"What's wrong?" Kiyoshi asked. "Nothing at all. Let's all hurry." you answered as you all ran to where the exit is. You all got out of the house only to see the boar head man from earlier kicking Zenitsu as he protected the box Nezuko is in.

"Take this! Move it! Draw your sword and fight me! You spineless punk!" The boar head man exclaimed.

"Tanjiro..... I protected it. Because you said.......this was more important to you than your life." Zenitsu said as he looked at Tanjiro. Your eyes widened when you saw him all beat up.

"After all that bluster, you won't even draw your sword, you dumbass? If you're a fellow demon slayer, then let's see you fight!" The boar head man exclaimed as he continued to kick Zenitsu.
