The usually sunny obx days are unfortunately shortened by bad weather and consistent rain. With a storm coming their way, most of the island enter their homes to not disturb whatever rude awakening mother nature decided to bring. Except one.

JJ leaves the supermarket once they start to close up, locking every lock and checking everything that needs to be checked. Mary wanted extra vegetables for dinner so the blonde offered to go get them. She was hesitant considering the storm and she didn't want him to go out at such hour but of course, he didn't listen. He pulled his hoodie up and over his head jogging to his bike. Noticing the pace of the rain, and darkness of the clouds, he quickly hopped on, started it up and sped off down the road.

Kiara let out an irritated sigh while tossing her phone on the coffee table. She's sitting comfortably on the couch with the tv on low volume. She's called numerous times and they still don't have the decency to even answer her. She would have expected one of them to, but none? With her luck, she would have been better off wishing for a shooting star.

Sometimes Kiara believes she's the problem with these inconveniences. Of course, that's not the case at all, but with all the signs she's been given with her parents , it wouldn't be much of a surprise if it was. She started to rub her temple in slight frustration.

Disappointment is becoming her second favorite home.

JJ furrows his brows while attempting to drive in this pelting riptide. Maybe Mary was right, this wasn't such a good idea.

He continues down the road but shortly is stopped by three huge orange "road closed" signs.

"Shit, guess I'll have to take the long way."

He turned around heading back. Knowing what that long way consists of, he's the slightest bit pleased.

The pouring rain has become cold and protracted. Clouds are grey and murky. Twigs, leaves, and other little outside things washed around wherever the wind took them. Trees bend almost to the point of breaking but never doing so.

He drove through figure eight eyeing each house with disgust as he clutched tightly onto the brown paper bag, not letting it slip through him. To his misfortune, his bike starts to jerk slightly. He looks on each side of him checking his tires then finally checks his gas handle.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me." He mumbled.

The bike slows down once it hits empty.

"No no no, c'mon." He attempted to start it back, twisting the key over and over again.

But no luck.

Water trickled down his face while he held the wet and fragile bag. JJ sits there looking around, contemplating on what he should do.

"Damnit,"

The rain buckets down onto the roof, hitting the window panels along the way. Kiara held the remote clicking through channels. She's not looking for anything particular or peculiar. She pulls the blanket, snuggling into the couch. Her blinks are slow as the sound of the storm soothes her.

Hearing four hard knocks to the door, she quickly sat up. She looked around knitting her brows, confused.

"The hell,"
