A few days later~

"Camera's ready? Okay, let's go," the news reporter spoke before smiling for the camera. "This is Gale Gossip here at Ninjago City's very own City Hall! Where the biggest party of the year is celebrating our fair city and its citizens." The young woman wore a glamorous gown that sparkled under the lights. Hundreds of party guests filled the grand hall. Crystal chandeliers hung over the ceiling. Food stands filled the sides of the various large entry ways with dining tables spread out here and there. The center was cleared, though, for dancing. "As you can see, everyone is excited to start this magical night. Class is expected here but don't think for a second about this being boring. A DJ is here, of course, for some exciting tunes. Activites are held throughout the building all night long to entertain every guest, along with a few extra games to busy your children. Come on down to the party of the century! Tickets are still up for grabs, so hurry before they're gone. Remember, only requirement is that you wear a mask. Gotta keep the mystery don't we?" Gale finished before placing a masquerade mask over her eyes happily.

As party guests began their celebration, an unoccupied room in the far end of City Hall began to creak. A piece of the wall slid open. A single head poked out and scanned the dark room.

"Coast's clear," Jay spoke before sinking his head back into hiding. The large chunk of wall continued to slide open until all the ninja filed out.

"We're in," Lloyd spoke while wearing a tiny ear piece in his left ear. He held a button on it in order to speak to his master.

"Very good, keep a low profile, though. And remember..." Wu trailed off.

"Don't take off your party masks. We know," Kai replied, hearing his master's words over his own ear piece. The fire master took off his ninja mask and replaced it with a bright orange one that rested over his eyes. It was pretty plain with only a few sparkles as decoration. The other ninja followed, taking off their ninja gis to have fancy suits underneath. Seliel did the same, having a teal blue dress. Her hair was tied loosely in a bun, but it was falling to the side. The earth master noticed and strolled over to her.

"Hey, it's coming undone a bit," Cole spoke, adjusting the bun. Once it was fixed, Seliel turned to him with a smile.

"Thanks," she replied before covering her eyes with a party mask. The two smiled at eachother for a second more.

"Come on, guys, " Lloyd called out, snapping the two out of their trance. Everyone headed over to the door.
"Take turns. We can't all go out at once." Seliel glanced over at Jay who nodded. The two linked arms and exited the dark room casually. Seliel faked a laugh as they strolled out into the main area in case any guests spotted them. About 15 minutes went by before Cole and Zane exited the room while pretending to have a causal conversation. The same occured with Kai and Lloyd after another 15 minutes ticked by.

The whole team scattered around the building. Civilians filled the hallways and main enterance quickly. Music blared through the crowd. Many people started dancing in the center, laughing. Others went towards the activites. Tons of stands filled the hallways, which all connected to the main area. Seliel and Jay strolled past a few with games for guests to play. Jay paid for a ring toss since he spotted a octopus plush he really wanted. At the same time, Seliel stood off to the side with obvious confusion.

"What kind of masquerade ball has carnival games?" Seliel complained while holding the button on her ear piece to speak to everyone.

"Who cares! I'm getting that octopus!" Jay laughed. He nearly got the ring over the pole.

"I heard that the mayor wanted to please all the citizens in order to make up for the losing streak the police have had with capturing the gang," Lloyd explained through the ear piece. Seliel scanned over the civilians.
