Abit earlier that same day, it was the last hour for the kids of Ninjago Highschool. The humungous hallways of the school were dead silent as everyone was in their classes. However, the faint sound of singing could be heard in the distance. The music room was filled with teens singing a song for their concert in the winter. Several different voices sung over one another as each of them tried their best to follow the teacher.
This teacher was a middle aged man with black hair that was combed neatly on his head. A small mustache rested under his nose, and his brown eyes matched his coat. The teacher gazed over the students as a warm smile was spread over his face. He moved his hands with the music, while he listened to choir before him. The man's face soon turned sour once he noticed a single soul was hidden behind the standing students. He quickly moved his hands in an halting position and walked forward.
"Stop stop, stop the music," the teacher demanded until the room was silent. His eyebrow began to twitch as he stared in the direction of the hidden student. "Cole..." He muttered in a frustrated tone. The students who were in the way moved to reveal an older teen with black wavy hair. He was more built than most of the students in the room. However, the way he gently used his pencil to sketch over the papers in his hand revealed abit more of a softer side. His chocolate brown eyes were too focused on his sketch to even acknowledge the man's call. Another student beside him had to tap his shoulder to snap him out of his focus. He turned his attention from his drawing to the teacher infront of him.
"Mind telling me why you're not participating?" The teacher asked. The boy known as Cole gave a dull look before resting his back up against his chair.
"You know why, Dad..." Cole muttered the last part to himself. A few students gave uneasy looks with Cole's remark. Cole has built a reputation quickly in the school as someone you shouldn't mess with. He isn't really a bully. You just don't want to mess with someone who looks like they could punch you through a wall. Anger quickly built up inside the teacher. He was about to explode on Cole until the school bell rang. All the other students fled the scene, while Cole trailed behind. His father quickly stopped him and shut the door behind them.
"Cole, this is the third time this week you haven't participated. How is anyone suppose to take me seriously if my own son won't listen in my class!" his father spat angrily. Cole's eyes narrowed as the older teen crossed his arms.
"You don't listen to me either," Cole muttered once again, looking away. Cole's father soon sighed as he walked closer to the teen.
"Cole, I know you don't think music is something your good at, but I want you to give an honest try, okay? You are the son of a Royal Blacksmith. You were born to dance and sing! I know you have it in you, son!" Cole's father spoke proudly as he rose his cane up in the air. Cole groaned under his breath before walking over to take a seat on one of the chairs. His father then noticed the papers in Cole's hands and took them away. He saw that it was his own sheet music with sketches of dragons or his son scribbled all over it. He let out a disapproving sigh. "And the first thing you need to do is stop drawing all over my sheet music. These papers are works of art! They shouldn't be drawn on, son." Cole twisted his gaze from the papers to his father. Something snapped inside him with that comment.
"The sheet music is what's trash, dad," Cole spat. His father turned his head quickly from Cole's words.
"You watch your tongue, Cole. Don't think I forgot your disrespectful behavior from before. Don't make me ground you," he warned.
"I'm practically already in the ground, because I'm doing this stupid dancing and singing everyday!" Cole replied with anger now rising inside of him. Red seemed to cover his father's face; he gripped his cane harder.
"That's it, you're grounded for the rest of the week," the older man spoke harshly.
"Fantastic! I won't have to do anymore of this crap," Cole spoke, before he stood up again to leave.
