Skylor began to tap her foot anxiously. She sat quietly on her living room sofa waiting for Kai to pick her up for their date. However, the date was pretty much the furthest from her mind right now. She began to rub her arms as the chilling, frightening feeling of what might happen to Kai. Skylor refused to give Harumi what she desired, so Kai's safety was on her mind all day. She knew that the Elemental Gang would go after him tonight, but she had no idea when.
What was I thinking?! Now Kai's in danger, and they foolishly think he's an Elemental Master! They're gonna take him away, and it's all my fault!
The Master of Amber tried her best to hold back her terror.
I should have just told him that I could pick him up, but that would raise suspicion. What if they already captured him!? What if--
DING DONG!
Skylor jolted up off the couch in alarm. She nearly went into attack mode at the sudden noise as she went to answer the door. She took a look through the window to see that it was Kai. A wave of relief washed over her, and she opened the door.
"Hey, sorry I'm abit late," Kai spoke with an embarrassed smile. Skylor smiled warmly once the huge weight of guilt was lifted off her shoulders.
"Were you busy fixing your hair?" Skylor questioned, noticing his styled, but still spiked up, hair.
"Hey, beauty like this takes a while," Kai remarked with a proud smirk. Skylor eye rolled playfully while locking the door behind her.
"You do look really nice," Skylor stated in a joking but also genuine tone. Kai took his hands out from behind his leather jacket and gave her a rose.
"And you look beautiful," Kai spoke smoothly, noticing her orange dress that went to her knees. Skylor smiled at the rose.
"You practiced that all day didn't you?" She asked before taking the flower.
"Maybe," Kai replied while offering his arm to her. Skylor accepted and wrapped her hand around it. They headed over to Kai's car. Skylor couldn't help but notice a couple plushies were in the back window. Kai caught her gaze and sighed.
"It's my aunt's car," Kai explained with a bit of embarrassment.
"I see, well your aunt has good taste," Skylor teased with a smile before hopping in the passenger seat.
"Uh huh, thanks," Kai replied with a smirk before starting up the car and driving off.
Meanwhile, a small group of shadows gathered close by Ninjago City's biggest prison. The four members hid from any lights moving too close towards them or any guards walking by. It wasn't until they were all alone that one of them spoke.
"Anyone else feeling like this is so wrong?" The voice of Jay whispered.
"We talked about this. The only lead we have is inside that prison. And besides, it's not like we're breaking him out or anything. Just talking," Lloyd spoke up.
"I was talking about our new outfits. I mean we look like a pack of skittles! At least Cole is the only one dressed up in camouflage," Jay inputted while pointing over to Cole, the only one wearing black.
"These Ninja Gis are to represent your elements. As long as you stay out of sight, the color should be no problem to you," Principal Wu replied through an ear piece in each of their ears.
"Sure, whatever you say," Jay remarked, through his blue mask, with an annoyed tone.
"Sssh, keep it down," Cole insisted before ducking his head to avoid the beam of light going past him. The Lloyd crawled over to Jay and pointed towards the electrical fence that stood between them and the jail.
