A/n: I know I said, today, that I might not be able to finish the chapter this week and then I finish it literally the same day... I'm such a liar, lol. Sorry guys for the misguidance, I really thought I had more to write than this, but anyway, hope you enjoy!
After being arrested, the ninja team were interrogated for several hours. Question after question was thrown at them, and it went a little something like this:
"WHAT ARE YOU CRIMINALS PLANNING!?! WHY DID YOU TRY TO ATTACK THE MAYOR!? WHO'S YOUR LEADER?!? ANSWER ME!!!"
"Are you done?" Nya asked with irritation. Deputy Tommy took in a deep breath. He carried a proud smirk before backing up to look at his partner, Simon.
"Yes... just really needed to get that out of my system. I've been waiting for a victory like this," Tommy gloated before handing it over to Simon. The ginger cleared his throat while the two deputies took a seat.
"Ms. Smith, you were previously seen as a victim of the gang's plots. However, we just learned that you're an elemental yourself. Was the kidnapping a cover-up of some kind?" Simon questioned carefully, raising a pen over his pad of notes.
"No, they really did kidnap me. Not all elemental masters are a part of the gang," Nya corrected, crossing her arms, sounding offended.
"Then, why did you help those other gang members in trying to publicly execute our mayor?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"They weren't part of the gang either! They're victims just like me!" Nya spat, growing red in the face. Normally, the young girl would have explained herself better. However, she was reaching her limit with everything Harumi just tried to pull off at the ball. Jay and his friends were in danger now, and she didn't have any more time to waste!
"Tell that to our mayor who locked himself in his office and won't stop crying," Tommy mumbled with a glare. Nya sighed, trying to collect her thoughts. Her shoulders slumped, and her head dipped low. She tried doing the breathing techniques her aunt always taught her. The water master then opened her eyes once more to look at the deputies.
"The gang have these bracelets. I don't know how they make them, but Skylor has one on right now," Nya tried to explain while making a circular shape with her hand.
"You're talking about Ms. Chen?" Simon asked, reaching over to grab a folder. He started flipping through it until Skylor's file came up.
"Yeah, there's some kind of dark power inside them that has the ability to control anyone who wears them," Nya answered. The two deputies glanced at eachother before turning back towards the teen. "What? Look, I know it sounds crazy."
"Understatment..." Tommy mumbled.
"But, it would exaplain the bracelet we couldn't take off of Karloff..." Simon whispered to his partner.
"What did you say?" Nya asked, leaning in to hear. Tommy cleared his throat. The two deputies stood up and pushed their seats underneath the metal table.
"Thank you, Ms. Smith, for your cooperation. That's all we have for you now," Simon replied while police officers entered the room to take Nya away. She stood up, eyeing the officers as they pulled her along.
"Please! We have to find Jay and the others before the gang makes them do something else horrible!" Nya pleaded while being dragged away.
"Wow, what a bunch of baloney," Tommy stated after closing the door. Simon glanced over the files of all the teens, focusing mostly on the three boys who have yet to be captured. Tommy noticed his partner's serious gaze and formed a deep frown.
"You don't really believe her story, do you?" Simon's eyebrows formed a furrow shape. He rubbed his chin while deeply in thought.
