Chloe heard a noise and instinctively reached for her gun. Trixie was asleep and it was pretty late. Too late for anyone who wasn't looking for trouble to show up at her house. She pointed it towards the door and approached slowly, but when she heard his voice, she put it away quickly. "D- Detective?" Lucifer's voice reached towards her through the darkness and she hurried around the corner. Lucifer looked different, despite his glowing red eyes, his hair was a mess, dirt and blood mixed together as they smeared across his face and his suit was torn to shreds. "Lucifer, oh my god, what happened?" He seemed to look through her as he shook his head. "Are you hurt," she asked, trying to determine the source of the blood. He looked down at his hands. Blood was slowly oozing from them, not as if he had been cut, but as if his skin had cracked. She inhaled sharply and slowly led him into the apartment. "Lucifer, let's go into the kitchen and clean you up a bit, okay?" Lucifer didn't respond but when she lightly touched his arm to lead him there, he didn't protest. She turned on the water and tried again to ask him what happened to his hands. "It happens sometimes," he said in a low voice as she rinsed the dirt and blood from his hands, "after I show my true form, the scars don't hold for long," "scars?" she asked, but he simply nodded.
Chloe climbed up onto the counter and grabbed the first aid kit out of the cabinet. She considered putting anti bacteria stuff on them but then remembered that Lucifer was the devil and probably didn't need to worry about infections. She wrapped his hands carefully with gauze, then helped him to the couch. They sat on opposite sides until she lightly pulled him down so he was laying with his head in her lap. He stared off into the distance and she ran her finger through his hair. "Lucifer, can you tell me what happened?" His voice was lower and husky as if it hurt him to speak, "I led a rebellion against my father. He threw me out of Heaven and forced me to rule Hell for all of eternity," Chloe nodded, "But happened today? And what did you mean by scars?" "Hell fire. It burns and you can never truly heal, or at least I can't. When he threw me down, I landed in the fire," "You're saying, your devil face, it's a burn scar?" "My whole body is a bloody burn scar. I can hide it, I don't know how or why, but I can. Switching back though, it pulls and rips and well..." he trailed off. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "It's not your fault, Chloe," she smiled at him slightly, "I know. That doesn't mean I don't wish it hadn't happened to you," Lucifer relaxed a bit and she relaxed with him, "Lucifer, how old were you when God cast you out?" "In human years, about fourteen." Chloe fought back a load of emotions, "You were just a kid." Suddenly it thundered and Lucifer flinched. She resumed running her fingers through his hair, "It's okay baby, I promise. Everything's okay."
Lucifer looked at her for the first time during their conversation, "I love you, Chloe." "I love you too." A sort of warmth spread across Lucifer's body. Something he hadn't felt in millennia; safety.
A/N Hi, so I highly doubt anyone will actually read these, plus they kinda suck, but I wrote a few that I'll post today then gradually as I find inspiration. On the off chance that anyone does read this, please let me know if you catch and spelling or grammar errors and if you have any ideas. Thanks. -Brayden
