A/N IMPORTANT this takes place at the end of season 4, with a slight change, Lucifer is staying for a final day on earth and Chloe convinces him to marry her before he goes.
Lucifer stood at the end of the small isle under an arch. A priest stood next to him in the little backyard garden. There was a rose covered archway over him and a moss-covered isle lined with large logs. There was plenty of seating but only two of them were filled. Trixie and Ella sat in the front row, patiently waiting for the wedding to start. Trixie caught his eye and he winked at her just as the music begun. Chloe Decker walked around the corner and took the first step down the isle.
The dress was simple really. White, tea length, slightly flared at the bottom with a pink tint climbing up the skirt. Nothing special. The woman in it however; she was a different story. Her blonde hair fell in winglets around her shoulders, she had on a bit of makeup. No more than normal really, just a bit of pink on her eyelids to match the dress. The light fell though the canopy of trees perfectly highlighting her as she walked down the isle. When she reached him, it took all the inner strength Lucifer had not to kiss her right then.
The priest said the typical wedding things, but neither Lucifer or Chloe heard him. The priest signaled that it was time for vows. Lucifer looked at his detective,
"Detective," he paused, "Chloe. The first time I saw you, I knew you were different. Knew you were special. What I feel for you, what I feel when I'm with you, it's something incredible. Something extraordinary that I can't stop. That I don't want to stop. You're the person I've been waiting for my whole life, and I am so lucky to have found you. I would die a happy devil if you could only know just how much I love you."
Lucifer put the ring on her finger, then it was Chloe's' turn.
"Lucifer, you are a piece of work, but you're my piece of work. I accept you, every single thing that makes you who you are, from now until the end of time. I love you." She put the ring on Lucifers left hand.
"Do you, Lucifer Morningstar, take Chloe Jane Decker to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Without looking away from her, he answered,
"I do."
"And do you, Chloe Jane Decker, take Lucifer Morningstar to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." Lucifer took Chloe's hands in his.
"Then by the power vested in me, the grace of God by the State of California, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride." Lucifer kissed her like it was the first time and the last time he'd ever kissed her. He kissed her like he would die if he didn't. He kissed her like now was forever.
Ella took Trixie so Lucifer and Chloe could, erm, consummate their marriage. They walked into Lux, Chloe on Lucifer's arm. People immediately surrounded them, but Lucifer didn't notice. Being the one on Lucifers arm was a power trip for anyone, but being on Lucifers arm as his wife was so much more. To be the only human the lord of hell wanted for all of eternity, it was overwhelming.
Girls, guys, and everyone else flocked around Lucifer, but he barley noticed. He helped his wife though the crowd and into the elevator. The second the doors closed he pushed her up against the wall. They kissed for the hundredth time that day, but it was just as electric as the first. More so even, each kiss was more desperate than the last. Lucifer wanted to be as close to her as possible and he would stop at nothing to do that.
Lucifer looked over at his new wife. He smiled. Lucifer was happier than he had ever been in his long life and at the same time, he was sadder than he'd ever been. If he was staying, he would buy her the perfect house. He'd take Trixie to school in the morning then meet her at work to solve yet another case. They'd probably have a baby, maybe two. He'd be a proper husband and a father, not only to Trixie, but hopefully to his own offspring. He'd fall asleep next to her every night, endure her relentless snoring all night, and wake up next to her every morning. Instead, he had to leave her in a mere eight hours. He would spend millennia in hell and she would spend years on earth, but they would be forever torn apart and there was nothing he could do about it. He didn't know he was crying until he saw the tears on the sheets. He laid back against his pillow and then felt her stir beside him. He turned his head, meeting her eyes,
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Morningstar."
"Good afternoon, Mr. Morningstar."
