Lucifer couldn't bare to go to the funeral. The love of his life was dead. It wasn't a violent end. She went in her sleep, wrapped in Lucifer's arms. 88 years. Chloe had made it 88 years and Lucifer had spent just over 60 of those with her. Barely a blink of an eye in his immortal life and yet, he would never be the same.
Chloe was so beautiful, inside and out throughout her life. She was selfless to a nauseating degree. She always out the needs of others before herself, which made her and Lucifer a perfect pair, as her needs were always his top priority. Every crime scene she investigated broke her heart and every time she solved a murder, it stitched back up again. Lucifer would never forget how she only had one dimple. He would never forget her sea blue eyes and the way she rolled them at him. He would never forget the way her eyebrow knit together and her cheeks flushed slightly when she thought hard. Sure, she had aged since they'd first met, but it wasn't something Lucifer had noticed.
Well, except for her hair. It had gone from gold to silver. Lucifer of course, didn't age, but since he was staying in one place for so long, he had to fake it. Chloe would spend Saturday nights putting silver highlights in his hair to keep up the charade. Chloe had loved his hair. She'd play with it every chance she got. So much so, that after their first few months of dating, Lucifer had stopped wear hair gel. She hadn't been gone long, but Lucifer already missed her long fingers in his dark curls.
Lucifer had planned the funeral. He ordered the casket, the flowers, booked a priest, settled Chloes affairs, and booked a venue. It would be a beautiful funeral, but Lucifer wasn't going to be there. He couldn't bare to stay on earth without her. Trixie was grown, with kids of her own and Lucifer and Chloe's son, Zain was in 20s, no longer in need of his father 24/7. They both had trusts and everything Lucifer owned was paid off. After a last goodbye to his children and a promise to come visits, he made one final stop.
"Mazikeen, can I speak with you?" Maze and Eve lived in a little town house in Hollywood. Eve was out, which was probably good because Maze has a bit of a temper.
"Sure, what's up?" She sat backwards on a chair and made eye contact with the devil.
"I'm going back." Maze stood up quickly,
"Where you even going tell me?" Lucifer nodded,
"I'm here, aren't I. Maze, I know you have a life here and I don't expect you to come with me, but I plan on visiting my kids every few months, so if you ever do decide to come back, just let me know."
"What if I wanted to come with you now?" Lucifer looked at her, shocked,
"Mazikeen, you have a life here now. You have Eve and your cat. Would you really just leave all that?" Maze furrowed her brows,
"I- I don't know." He took a deep breath and sighed sadly,
"She won't live forever. If you want to come with me now, I won't stop you, but I think you should enjoy what you have, while you still have. Trust me, it's not fun when it's over."
Maze nodded, "I know Decker meant a lot to you, but do you really have to go?"
"She meant everything to me," he whispered and Maze nodded.
"Don't forget about me down there, all right?" He nodded,
"I promise." As Lucifer turned to walk out the door, he gave her one last smile,
"I'll see you later, Mazikeen. Water my plants." He shut the door.

Lucifer made his way to the penthouse. He stood on the balcony, watching the sun set on the city he had called his home for so many years. He spread his wings. He saw her face. The tears in her eyes the last time he left, the way she'd whispered for him to stay with her and those three words. The first time she'd said them. He braced fro take off.
"I love you too, Chloe." and he launched himself off the balcony.

It took a second his Lucifer's eyes to adjust to the darkness. When he landed, the demons rushed to greet him, but he waved them off, not desiring worship. He wanted to be by himself, but he knew that would never happened again. Between the souls and the demons, someone was always near. The problem was, he was completely alone. This was to be his eternity.
a/n I have no idea what this is (a common theme in my life) but it's finals week and I needed a break so here you go. I wrote this while crying over algebra and I didn't proof read it. Sorry not sorry.
