The hallways were silent and so was the sound of my heart in my ears as I still stood outside his door feeling guilty of jumping to conclusions.
I shouldn't have done that knowing how he is. I know he's not the type to played around but I meant it as a joke. Maybe he's write, all I know is to fuck good things up.
I raised my hand to knock on his door again but I stopped feeling as though I should give him his time. Maybe if I disturb him right now he'll get more annoyed.
Hesitating, I bit down on my lip one last time before shuffling my way to my room. There wasn't a single sound I heard from inside and it made me think if was asleep or passed out.
Closing the door behind me I slowly walked over to my bed. My eyes heavy from guilt and my heart burdened with an unwanted anxiety clawing at me.
Turning back to my pending assignments I busied myself in my work as I had been doing since the last few months. Nothing made sense to me if I sat still for more than a minute, i needed a distraction in any shape and form possible and right now the only un-harming distraction I could afford was my studies.
Time was flying out of my hands and exams were almost above my head like an uncovered sword ready to pierce through anything it fall on.
The theory were draining my energy and I found myself dozing off in lala land with my book on my chest. Darkness enveloped me and soon I felt myself being dragged to the bottom of an endless pit.
My surroundings changed and all I saw was darkness. My eyebrows furrowed as I felt shivers rake my body. Hands of the unknown clawing at my back, running down the spine like steel.
Just when the dark fig became water and started suffocating me, only then did it happen. A door opened at the far end of the room I was in. Whispers filled my ears and I ran for the door.
Familiar voices called out my name as I got close. My steps halted as I peeked inside the room and my breath hitched.
Mama, Baba.
Ammi and Baba.
They all were here. They were here and so close to me. A grin formed in my face and I felt the blood rushing in my legs as I ran full force towards the door. A laugh escaped my lips as I saw their happy faces and just when I thought I'd cross the threshold a barrier unknown to me stopped me from entering.
My hands felt the cold acrylic glass door that held me back, my eyebrows furrowed as I tried opening the door, knocking on it. I shrieked and jumped when a splatter of red smeared across the door as if someone had chugged blood on it.
