Hadiya's pov.

"Be downstairs in ten minutes. Hasan will text you" ammi told me as she exited my room. My eyes watered as I gazed at myself.

Shade of gold draped on my body in the form of a beautiful gown, the net veil at on my head proudly set with a crystal encrusted head piece.

My eyes shaded with gold and brown, big lashes and eyeliner shaping my eyes to perfection, a faint hue of blush powdered on my face with a dust of highlighter.

Come to think of it you won't have to spend much on makeup artist and hair dressers, I'll do that for you for free.

She had said.

The makeup artist and her team left me as I sat still on my bed. Today was tht most important day of my life and my sister wasn't here. She knows it's my nikkah today. She's going to be there. But not inside. Just outside my door. Like a stranger. Ammi had it carved in stone that Zoya wasn't allowed in the house. No matter how much I fought I couldn't make her change her mind because the person I was fighting for agreed with my mother long ago.

My phone pinged and a knock resounded in the room. My cousins came inside with half hearted, toxic grins. Lies I can see. The only person who would've been happy for me was Zoya and she isn't here.

"All the best hadi boi. I'm right here. Don't feel too nervous. Just imagine me holding your hand. I love you."

~zoya.

I chocked on a sob and wiped my tears aggressively making my cousins shriek in horror but I couldn't care less about this. Running off to my window I looked to witness her car parked there at a little distance. She was leaning against it, dressed in an embellished frock and straight pants. Simple and elegant. Clearly not her style. Zoya was all about drama and bling and surely right now she didn't have any hopes of being involved in my wedding.

Catching my gaze she straightened up and waved at me, I placed my hand on the cold glass window and put my forehead against it.

I wanted nothing less than to run away from here get in that car and elope with my one true love but I couldn't. The thought itself made a smile spread on my face.

"Wanna run away. I got the car, pack your bag let's go XD"

~zoya.
