Siege

It was unknown to me how I managed to convince people of my lies. Javan and Mia were my closest friends. They were both full-blood vampires. Each coming from high-ranking families. Our friendship was unsought for. Both Vampire and Werewolf courts were uneasy at the idea of our friendship.

Mia and Javan knew not of my plans. They were what one would call 'nice'. They wouldn't understand the great necessity behind my actions.

As we were standing in front of Veetá's front door, awaiting her presence, Mia and Javan saw it as a simple visit to a 'potential friend' that we would help guide into the supernatural realm. The story I told them had to remain as such.

Getting close to the girl would serve as useful when it was time for executing the plan. What would serve most useful was the undoubted crush she appeared to have on me. She was an odd creature. I could not understand what sparked the interest.

I knew I had to play my cards correctly. If I did, everything would be a breeze.

That would be if I could keep my own emotions in check. I was at war with my heart. Though, I knew I would win. I always did.

We were standing before the wide doors of her house. We got buzzed in through moments ago. We were patiently waiting for Veéta to make her way down and welcome us in.

What was my plan? None.

I couldn't do anything with my friends around to witness it. Keeping an enemy close played no harm. I wished to simply get a greater understanding of what I was dealing with.

The door opened to reveal a panting Veéta with a tired smile on her face. She was in cotton shorts and a matching cotton top that hanged on her shoulder. My eyes did their own thing as I gazed down at her whole. I blinked a couple of times as I took in a few breaths to calm my increasing heart rate. I looked down at her feet as I slapped myself mentally for being that easy.

''Hey, guys...'' She spoke to us in a raspy tone. When I looked up at her, I noticed that she was leaning on the frame of the door for support. She continued to smile at us before her expression turned meek and her eyes rolled over.

She instantly fell to the floor as Mia rushed to her as called out her name.

''What's happening, what's happening?'' Mia questioned us in panic as she rolled over Veéta to shake her. I looked down at the scene with the slightest twang of emotions residing within.

''Babe, I don't think you're supposed to shake her...'' Javan spoke as he dropped down next to Mia to look down at Veéta in confusion.

''She can't die, right? Should we carry her inside?'' Mia continued to question us in panic. I took a simple step forward to look at Veéta's face. She looked unconscious.

Veéta let out a hum as she rolled her head to the side. She rolled her eyes back up and slowly opened her eyes. I inhaled a sharp take of breath as I noticed that her eyes were a deep shade of red.

''Get away from her.'' I spoke calmly to my friends. She claimed not to have any abilities but there she was with a clear sign of her Vampire side. Vampire's eyes turned a certain colour when they lost control. Something had to trigger it. An emotion of sort. Veéta didn't seem riled up in any way which could only mean...

''She's been Jexed. Get away from her.'' I spoke more sternly to my friends. Mia looked up at me with clear hesitancy in her eyes.

Before I could take matters into my own hands, Veéta grabbed Javan by the shirt and pulled him down with great force. She didn't waste any time before she bit right into his shoulder.

An instant scream came from Javan as he tried to pry himself away from Veéta. Mia desperately tried to help him but the only resulted in Veéta getting agitated. She pulled Javan away from her and kicked him straight in the chest to send him plummeting a few feet away.

That on its own was enough to send a wave of concern into me. Before Mia could react, Veéta got herself up and turned to her with a brazen expression. She was bloodthirsty. She couldn't stop until it was quenched. We were simply bags of blood to her at that moment.

She tried to pull Mia in but Mia reacted quickly by throwing herself up away from her. Veéta only managed to get a few scratches on Mia's chest. I quickly stepped forward and pulled Veéta up by the shoulders to wrap my arms around her tightly from her back. She squirmed greatly in my hold. She was strong.

It bought Mia time to run to Javan to get him up.

''Go.'' I told them as I raised my voice to get my point across.

''We're not going to do that, Siege.'' Mia simply told me as she held onto Javan's arm. Javan already had a bruised head. They were not fast healers. It was going to take time for that to all go away.

Veéta managed to break free an arm and elbow her way out of my hold. I stumbled back but rushed back to her when I gained back my composure. She looked at me straight in the eyes silently for a moment. Her eyes seemed to be turning back for a second. It flickered away as soon as it came before she lunged forward at me and tackled me to the ground. She straddled me and went straight for my neck.

I was momentarily paralyzed as a strange sensation came over me. I laid under her unmoving. I hoped that she would get what she needed from me and snap out of it.

''What are you doing, Siege?'' Javan was the one to yell at me as they both ran over to me. I instinctively wrapped my arms around Veéta and pulled her head closer to her neck.

I blinked a couple of times as confusion came over me. What was I doing? I mean...

It wasn't bad.

I was...

What was I feeling?

The warmth of her body pressed up against me. The wetness of her lips against my neck. The slight arousal I was feeling... I-

Veéta was ripped off of me by both Javan and Mia. My hand went to my neck as I felt uneasy and sick to my stomach. I got up to my feet and watched Veéta pull away from Javan to turn to Mia. She instantly wrapped her arms around, Mia's throat and pushed her back with a great speed I barely saw what happened. Mia and Veéta both dropped to the ground as Mia tried her best to fight her way out of her hold.

Neither of us had even bothered transforming into our true forms. As if it was an unspoken agreement not to harm Veéta. Both Javan and I ran up to Mia to grab Veéta. She pushed herself and stared at me with a snarl before sent a kick to my chest greater than the one she served Javan.

I found my back connecting with a tree. The force was great enough to tilt the tree slightly. It hurt so much I could feel my angry bubbling. I could feel my eyes turn yellow. My werewolf form was taking over. Biting down the pain, I lunged myself onto my feet. I looked around my surrounding for a moment to try to catch sight of anything useful.

I spotted the perfect object in an instant. I dropped down to grab the spade from the ground and got up. I turned back to see both Javan and Mia struggling to keep Veéta in place. I sped to them with great before raising the spade into the air without much thought to it. In a second, it collided with the back of Veéta's skull.

She stopped her movements and slowly turned to face me. The blood was already dripping down to the ground. My heart pounded as I tried to calm my anger.

She dropped to the ground before she could even blink at me.

Would it hurt to comment once in a while? Just a few letters stringed together as a verb, object, and subject. You know.

Anyway, hoped you enjoyed the update. Vote, comment, and start healthy. Don't die. People have been doing that lately. Don't make it a trend.
