"The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off."

Lemon by N.E.R.D and Rihanna blasted through the speakers of the living room. When my uncle told me that my aunt wasn't going to be around for a while, our first reaction was to have a dance party. You know, to celebrate such an occasion.

The reason why the staff had disappeared was that the big bad wolf, my uncle, sent them away on another paid leave. These people were living life too kind. My uncle legit made me turn into the person I was. Shenanigans and all.

We were both standing on the thick centerpiece wooden table in the middle of the room, directly below the chandelier. The table was sturdy enough to carry both our weights and our movements.

I moved to the music carelessly and mirrored my uncle's moves at times. Sharia was the first to note my drastic change in character when I started living with my uncle. He was the epitome of my happiness. He taught me how to be happy. I would have never imagined dancing within the grounds of my parent's house. Uncle Jerah was the one who taught me to the joy within dancing.

When the song was shifting to Rihanna's part, my uncle began to talk.

"You've gotten good. You're becoming better than me." My uncle spoke to me as he continued to move.

"Becoming? I'm already better than you, old man." I joked as I gave him a scoff. At first, I was a horrible dancer. I was stiff and didn't allow myself to feel. I was scared of everything as if I could be jumped at any moment.

"Alright, kiddo. I can see you're all grown up." My uncle gave me a nod as he accessed my moves while he was playing his own.

"Three years does that to a gal." I gave him a look of sass as I shrugged.

"Who is that boy to you? You let him into the house even when you thought your aunt was back, has she met him?" My uncle questioned me about Siege. He left it to sit for a while, I was surprised.

"That boy...is probably my future husband. And I was sneaking him in. Makazi(aunt) would probably kill both of us if we could die." I told him with a careful and sad nod. That was my mentality. We were all supernatural. If things went south, we could simply dip. My aunt wasn't into cat and mouse games. She'd let us escape. When I went back home, I'd have hell to pay BUUUUT...

Your girl couldn't die so...

"Hmm, I'll need to meet him properly then. See how he turned out." My uncle accepted my words without protest. He looked at me with a smile of amusement.

"Huh?" I let out because I was hearing things I wasn't understanding. The song came to end and jumped straight to the next one.

"Huh?" My uncle replied with a look of confusion on his face.

"Has my absence led to you getting some action?" I decided to steer the conversation away from me. He was a bachelor. Three years wasn't even a speck in his lifetime but the guy had to start seizing the opportunity.

"I'm still hundreds of years older than you..." He suddenly gave me an authoritative tone.

Yup, the man was centuries old, having a silly dance party on a table with a teenager.

"Well?" I pried as I gave him a pointed look. Why was he deflecting?

"I found out my ex-wife was hiding my son from me." My uncle opted to say as it didn't stop him from moving to the music.

"I have a cousin!" Was my natural reaction. I was living a lonely life. The only close relative to me was my uncle. He had to play all the roles of the family I was missing. It made our dynamic get weird at times.
