I am more than surprised by what my mother-in-law can do. Akala ko noon, si Nana lang ang may kakayahang magmagic ng flights not knowing that my mother-in-law can do it too.
Imagine, she bought us a ticket for a direct flight going to Jeju sharing with another couple via private plane. And she just arranged it in hours! Ni hindi nya yan naplano.
Isn't it amazing?? Good thing I have good clothes with me! At dahil masunurin kaming anak, we followed Mama and went to the airport. Ang asawa ko sagad ang pagiging excited!
"Welcome on board Mr. and Mrs. Santiago, we wish you a happy journey with us tonight."
I smiled at the crew. Agad kaming naupo sa bandang kanan, yung isang couple nasa bandang kaliwa sila.
"Wife, do you want to sleep?"
I shook my head.
"Ako, can I sleep?"
"Sure."
Haii nako Benedict, paraparaan. Do you know what he did? He clamps his hand right through mine and leaned on me. I just smile, he's getting good at this. I let Ben enjoy this.
Oh well, I missed Korea. Back when I was a small kid, Nana used to kidnap me and bring me to Korea without my Daddy knowing, malalaman na lang nila papadalhan sila ni Nana ng picture sa airport na kami ng Incheon.
The flight was about 3 hours and a half. Gumising lang si Ben nung magutom sya pero natulog ulit while I was in awe with the view. It was still dark outside but my whole being is so awake. Maybe because I am too excited about this trip, I am excited of the possibilities this trip may bring. I'm hopeful of the start of this journey.
Sobrang antok ata nitong si Ben na kailangan ko pa syang gisingin to wake him up.
"Gumising ka na Ben aba! Kanina pa kita inaalog nakalanding na."
"Hmmmn."
"Iiwan kita dito."
Ben suddenly kissed ny cheeks.
"Sarap ng tulog ko wifey."
"Tse. Umayos ka na, nagcoconnect na yung plane sa ramp."
Ben smiled so wide. Kung simula pa lamang ganito na si Ben, hindi na sana ako pinilit na pakasalan sya. Tss.
"Lamig naman dito, Wifey."
"Natural Ben, fall ngayon dito malapit na mag snow kaya bumababa na ang temperature."
"Kailangan ko ng madaming madaming hug neto Wifey."
"Naku ha."
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Santiago?"
I smiled at the old man. Sya siguro ang driver namin.
"Ye, Ulileul delye oloe wassni (Are you here to fetch us?"
"Ye, Naneun Ju-song da, dangsin-ui unjeonsa. (Yes, I am Jusong, your driver)"
"Marunong ka magkorean?"
"Oo naman."
"Kaja,Ju-song?"
"Ye, i bangbeob (this way)"
"Bukod sa Korean ano pang alam mo?"
"German."
"Ano pa?"
"Hmmm, wala na ata?"
"Paano ka natuto magkorean?"
"Nana loves South Korea so much that we learned how to speak as if it was our second language."
"Totoo?"
"Yeah, to the point na hindi mo ako kayang iwala sa Seoul."
"Eh German?"
"Doon ako pinanganak."
"German ka?"
"Part. Yes."
"Ulineun yeogie isseubnida! (We are here.)"
"Kamsahamnida."
"Chelyuleul Heulgil su (Enjoy your stay)"
I smiled. Pinitik ko si Ben ang sama na naman kasi nyang tumingin.
"Sabi nya enjoy our stay daw."
"Kala ko kung ano na makangiti naman sayo yun."
"Tumigil ka nga jan."
Ben held my hand. Napatingin lang ako. My husband being so sweet like this is dangerous to me.
"Good Morning Maám, Sir, a reservation?"
"Yeah, under Mr. and Mrs. Benedicto Santiago?"
"1 Premiere Suite room for 2 good for 5 days and 4 nights. With breakfast and dinner. Complimentary access to the rooftop bar, gym, and swimming pool."
"Ye,.."
"Please sign here."
I signed the documents then the bell boy came to help us with our luggage.
"Wow Ben, look."
The view from our room is perfect. Sabi ko pagdating namin tutulog muna ako but the sunrise was just so beautiful.
Binuksan ko lang naman sa ang blinds to see the surroundings and I was amazed.
"Ben, ang ganda ng sunrise."
"Gaganda pa ba naman yan sa Misis ko."
"Ben ha."
Ben hugged me from the back.
"Ganda talaga ng sunrise no?"
"Maganda nga pero mas maganda ang misis ko."
"Ano kayang nakain mong panis no?"
"Grabe naman sa panis."
I took a deep breath and enjoy the silence as I feel this moment. Ben is still hugging me from behind while both of us were looking at the sunrise. I smiled.
"Are you happy?"
"My heart is happy Ben. How about you?"
"Truth? I really didn't know what it feels like to be happy again Kaia. I almost forget how. But I think I am. More than contentment, I feel comfortable and at ease."
"My only wish is for you to heal."
"Heal?"
I smiled. "Wala, can we sleep first? Wala pa tayong tulog. Ay ako lang pala."
"Sure!"
Ben carried me and laid me down on our bed.
"Ben ha!"
"Let's sleep my wifey."
Ben hugged me tightly. It wouldn't be a sin if I respond with sweetness too, right? So I kissed him, closed my eyes, and hugged him tightly.
"Wifey"
"What?! I thought we're sleeping."
"We are hubby, now close your eyes!"
"Why did you sneak a kiss?"
"Can't a wife do that to her husband?"
Nagulat lang ako ng biglang tumayo si Ben at sinara ang mga kurtina.
"Ben??"
"I don't want you telling me it's broad daylight!"
Ben suddenly kissed me. That kiss that intoxicates, that kiss that burns.
And finally, that morning, we consummate our marriage. We are not going apart, right?
If we are, then, I pray that I won't fall harder for this would break me so much.
