"Ngh...h-hah..." Stormjay opened his eyes to find he was in his own den, Bright Moon right next to him.
He remembered having the absolute worst panic attack of his life, then eventually fainting. He was honestly relieved to be alive, as he had genuinely thought he was dying.
"B-Bright Moon...what happened to me...?" Stormjay looked up into her emerald eyes.
"H-Holy shit... y-you're awake!?" She gasped. "Stormjay, you've been asleep...f-for...two whole days."
"...Two days...?" Stormjay's eyes widened. "T-Two days straight?"
"A-And what the hell happened to you...? W-When The Pack of the Fire attacked...a-and you...you just..."
"...I just what?"
"Bright Moon... he's awake...?" Roscoe's voice was heard from outside Stormjay's den.
"Yes...come in."
As Roscoe entered the den, Stormjay felt a bit more serene. Having two very close friends by his side had began to calm him down.
"Stormjay...are you alright?" Roscoe asked worriedly.
"O-Oh...I'm okay...I don't really remember much... do you know what happened...?"
"Everyone knows." Bright Moon gave Stormjay a serious look. "...You...kinda saved a lot of us."
"...What do you mean?" Stormjay asked, tilting his head to the left slightly.
Roscoe leaned down to Bright Moon. Stormjay thought he heard him whisper, "should we tell him?" but it wasn't quite audible. Bright Moon paused for a moment, then shook her head and whispered, "not yet."
"Hey, buddy, maybe you should go talk to your dad." Roscoe suggested. He turned to Bright Moon. "He needed to talk to you about what happened, anyway."
"...What happened?" Stormjay asked. "...Wait, how did the battle go...?"
"Everything is fine, we were able to drive them out...a few wolves are hurt, but no one is dead." Bright Moon sighed. "We have a bit of work to do later."
"Oh...okay. Well...I'm gonna go talk to my father now...see you guys." He smiled.
"S-See ya!" Bright Moon grinned nervously.
"Huh...he just has no clue, does he?" Stormjay heard Roscoe say to Bright Moon as he walked out of the den and into the morning light.
He began walking west toward Wood's den to see if he was in there, when he suddenly bumped into someone.
"O-Oh, I'm sorry...oh, hello, dad..." Stormjay smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry, Stormjay." Wood sighed. "...So you're finally awake."
"Yeah...Bright Moon said I've been asleep for a couple days...is that true?"
"That's right...will you come with me to my den for a moment? We need to talk."
"H-Huh...? Oh, o-okay..."
Stormjay began to walk with Wood to his den. Sun rays came as nature's easel, giving brilliant colors to what was hidden even under the passing starlit night.
When the two of them were finally in Wood's den, they stayed in silence for a few moments.
"...Do you remember anything?" Wood finally spoke up and asked.
"...I started feeling really weird then blacked out." Stormjay understated.
"...Kiara suspected this..." Wood sighed. "Has anyone told you about what happened while you were unconscious?"
