Loki had postponed this moment for too long. She had given it very extensive thought, and after the advice she was given by Misa, came to the conclusion that Stormjay and Sky deserved to know who their father really was. It didn't matter if they hated her. If she was really going to redeem herself, it meant she had to stop lying, once and for all. She had to throw away all of her manipulation and come clean.
Maybe Loki had subconsciously decided to tell them out of her own selfish desires. Maybe Stormjay and Sky would have been better of mentally not knowing. By telling them, she would be fixing one of the problems in head, but affecting her children in the process. But, she was their mother. She knew what was best for them. And, maybe by knowing the harsh truth, they would both come out stronger in the process.
First, she needed to tell Wood. Loki knew this would be easier than telling Stormjay and Sky, but from her experiences, Wood was very wise, and gave amazing advice. He would obviously be hurt by the truth, but she knew it wouldn't affect her like it would affect Stormjay and Sky.
"Hey, Wood?" Loki approached Wood, who had emerged from the West Forests, with Keaton and Misa behind him. As the two of them left the West Forests with Wood, they instantly left his side to take care of their own business in the Main Territory.
"Yes?" Wood's ears perked up. Something that Loki had somewhat forgotten about was how awkward Wood had been around her. Hopefully he'd try his best...
"Um...I need to talk to you." She told him.
"Oh, sure. What is it?"
"It's...something I need to talk to you alone about. Do you have time?"
"Yeah, I do. Is this important?"
"Very."
"Then, let's go to your den for this. I'm afraid if we go to my den, we may be interrupted a few times..."
"Okay," Loki nodded. Wood awkwardly nodded back at her and the two of them headed off to her den. Dread filled Loki's heart as they travelled.
As they entered her new den, she felt her face go pale. She felt like she was going to vomit. If she felt this way with Wood...she couldn't imagine how she'd feel when it was time to tell Stormjay and Sky.
"Well, what did you want to tell me?" Wood asked, sitting down in front of her. Loki sat down as well.
"...I need to be honest with you, for once in my life." Loki began. "There is something about Stormjay and Sky that you need to know, and I can't just continue to keep it from you..."
They were silent for a moment. Wood raised his brows slightly after a few seconds, as a way of saying 'go on...'
"You...you already knew about Aries...how I kept seeing him, after he became the chieftain of his pack..."
Wood flattened his ears slightly. "...Where is this going?"
"I...Wood..." Loki was trembling.
Wood closed his eyes. He seemed to have an idea of what was going on...and he didn't look happy.
"...Y-You're not their father, W-Wood..." Loki shuddered.
There was complete silence for a moment. Wood's blank, yet slightly confused expression shifted into one of sadness and disappointment.
"...W-Wood...I-I'm so sorry..." Loki pushed her tongue to the roof of her mouth. She really didn't want to cry.
"...Thanks for telling me. I...I need to go, now." He sighed. He was about to stand up, when Loki stopped him.
