When Jupiter came by to alert Stormjay and Bright Moon about the cougar in the East Forests, they immediately started preparing themselves to heal injured wolves.
"There's quite a few of them out there..." Bright Moon mentioned. "Stormjay, do we have enough comfrey roots? We can use them for wrenched claws and soothing wounds."
"Yes ma'am." Stormjay nodded. "We've also got enough horsetail leaves for any infections."
"Think we'll have to keep anyone overnight?" Bright Moon asked.
"That's the worst that could happen. I really hope nobody's too hurt, but with my dad out there fighting, I'm sure everyone will be fine."
"Last time we had a cougar attack, we lost a life...and this time, we don't even have Kiara to help. Do you really think so...?"
"But, last time, there were only like, four wolves fighting. This time, there's six. That's a good number for one cougar, I think..."
"Well, we'll just have to see..."

With Roscoe, Wood, Misa, Alpine, Sakura, and Ragna all going at the cougar at once, there was no doubt they would return home victorious.
Although he couldn't show it, as he needed to protect everyone else, Roscoe was terrified. He had plenty of battle experience, but never with an animal as substantially large as this one. He had found himself fighting alongside Alpine for most of this battle. They were, strangely enough, working quite well together. Alpine had obviously had a good amount of battle experience, as he grew up in The Pack of the Fire. But, Roscoe was a bit surprised on how seriously he was taking this fight.
Ragna had been the first to be attacked by the cougar. Ragna would usually be a leader in this kind of situation, but she had been caught off guard before the battle even started, weakening her. But, she was still fighting, which worried Roscoe.
"Ragna, take a rest," Roscoe ordered. "You're hurt."
"I can't just do nothing...not while all of you are working so hard..!" She responded.
Roscoe turned over to Wood for guidance. He seemed to be too preoccupied with the cougar right now to respond. He and Misa seemed to be taking the lead at the moment.
Misa reared up on her back legs, and brought her full body weight down on the cougar. As he attempted to do the same, she wrestled with him and flipped him under her. She called over for assistance as she kept holding him down. As she was a very large wolf, she was able to do so.
As Alpine and Roscoe sprinted over to assist her, the cougar was finally able to throw her off his back. Fortunately, Misa was not injured.
The cougar now was heading straight for Roscoe. A few months ago, Roscoe would have frozen up in this situation. But, now that he had matured and climbed his way to the beta of The Pack of the Earth, he was ready for this kind of situation.
As the cougar sprinted towards him, Roscoe shifted to the right, causing the cougar to run into a tree before it was able to decelerate.
The plan in Roscoe's head was to finish off the cougar by sinking his teeth into the back of his neck while he was stunned. But, unfortunately, he wasn't stunned for long, as the cougar then unexpectedly leapt towards him, pinning him to the ground. Roscoe's head smashed against the ground, causing him to yelp out in pain.
His vision began to blur. How could he have been defeated so easily? He was a master fighter. He was ready for this. And all it took was one blow for him to...
